Amazon MGM acquired creative control over 007

100% agreement. Personal taste has been raised to the level of aesthetic judgement.

I do understand that many voices/perspectives were ignored in aesthetic discussions, but now failure to meet individual expectations equals aesthetic failure.

“Certainly wait for Bond aftershave – and for the theme park and the dinner jackets,

Well, the aftershave has been going for years already - decades? - and judging by sites like Bond Lifestyle the dinner jacket, coat, shoes, cuff links, whisky, bathing trunks have similarly been going strong for years.

The real difference would be you might get all this tosh shipped overnight on your Prime subscription in the future

Hopefully we will also get some more reasonably priced stuff. I still shutter at the thought of some of the Teddy Bears. They weren’t even explosive ones mentioned in TLD.

Expensive Teddy bears? You clearly didn’t see the FarbergĂ© egg, or the Agora car models, or the DB5 Junior car? :astonished:

“See, Chris, we let your brother have full control over his things!”

Its a pipe dream of amazons if im being honest.

Edit: better link

Social media seems to be really running with it, and whilst i think its VERY unlikely, it would be big enough to distract from all the hurdles Amazon currently have.

It couldn‘t be a strategy to deflect, could it? Amazon? Bezos? No, they would not do such a thing, right?

Im sure the thought wouldnt even cross thir minds.

Bond and Nolan seems like a match made in heaven. It has to happen, it WILL happen in the near future. As Fox Mulder would say, " I want to believe".
Nolan himself has expressed his love for 007.

Pro this being true - Nolan has expressed interest in Bond before, Amazon have already given his brother carte blanche on his two series

Against - Nolan is currently busy with his own film. Nolan has not exactly been quiet about his feelings on streaming services

Question: does Amazon release its films on Blu-ray? I think Nolan would insist on that.

Some yes, some no, but i imagine Syncopy would insist on it. Both Nolan and Emma Thomas have spoken about the importance of physical release - and also a longer gap between cinema release and home video release - apparently they sell more when its longer

Don’t tease me like this.

If I’m not going to get Brozza in Old Man Bond, then a Nolan-directed Bond movie is next best thing on the list.

Total freedom, final cut, no interference, wide cinema release for at least three months, including IMAX theatres, and ongoing profit participation.

If Amazon allows that (they won‘t)

I feel like we already got a Nolan film with Skyfall. I can’t see how a genuine Nolan Bond film would be different.

I would like to find out

The interesting thing about bringing in Nolan to me isn’t necessarily the movie he makes but the actor he helps cast and the tone he sets. The next director will have a huge influence on the next set of films.

Especially as Brosnan and Craig were producer decisions who were then directed by the safe pair of hands.

I’ve always assumed that Nolan would cast a one off Bond. I don’t think Amazon will want to be saddled with his choice for years afterwards.

It depends if he insists on a particular actor and Amazon are half-forced to use that person.

Kind of like Eon hiring Boyle for his fame/pedigree and hoping to talk him out of his ideas.

That is an interesting take, Luigi. What makes you say that?
