I can only repeat, an adult Bond novel with Bond as main protagonist is quite unlikely before Amazon gets anywhere definite with BOND 26. Of course, they could theoretically kick off all kinds of stuff together with IFP in behind-the-scenes talks. But would Pascal and Heyman really invest time in a niche sideline of the property when the main event has yet to take off? I doubt it.
That said, once the film is actually shot and in post production I could see Amazon release the comeback of the film tie-in. Based on the script and done by AI, can’t cost them more than a click by the time BOND 26 hits the screens.

Wow, here we go, an actual James Bond novel. I’m curious about what era this will be set in, modern day or the 50s/60s. Will it be a sequel to his Young Bond novels, or to On His Majesty’s Secret Service?

Oddly, IFP doesn’t yet list King Zero, nor was it announced in its newsletter. Amazon lists the Higson book both with this cover and this one
as a Penguin release for 24. September. May be a first sign Amazon is now really calling the shots for the releases.
Or simply the usual office cockup…

Will wait for an official press release but I’ve made my hopes about Higson letting it rip again well known (I’m currently rereading the Young Bonds for the first time since their release and it’s strengthened my belief he’s the right guy for job). Still, that initial image and the strangely worded write up look way off (“the” James Bond novel?). Hoping it’s true, but also hoping this isn’t the reveal.
We’re also one day away from April 1, so maybe I’ve already fallen for it.

It’s real. Higson attended a launch event in London. At the moment it seems like it’s a Fleming timeline story, but we’ll wait for more information. What captures my attention is the building up of a big scary villain.
