Brilliant idea!
I also would like Blofeld to become physically attractive and imposing, more Savalas-like charming, less meager stepbrother or Volcano-hiding coward.

I think M respecting Bond’s abilities should always be present, with him considering Bond the best agent in the service but not outright telling him. Ideally they should be close enough for M to ask for favours outside of work, such as observing Drax at Blades. Things like that should be enough to tell Bond how much esteem there is for him. We know there are other 00 agents, but it should almost feel like Bond is the only operative M meets with. He’s different. He’s the best. But things aren’t always going to be friendly given the stresses of the job - Bond’s return to MI6 in NTTD is my favourite briefing in the series.
