Leave Blofeld in the bin for now. Bond’s just been blofelded to death (literaly), so he should get a bit of rest for some time. Take the henchperson line ( not Trevelyan – no callbacks from the Brosnan era, and none from Craig), for two and then bring Blofeld back with a Bang (I said Bang!) and take it from there (and please try to get it right this time).
Since all of these ideas are equally dreadful, I’m taking this one as tongue-in-cheek. In that spirit, I’ll vote for the “colleague-turned-foe” plotline, even though I think it might be a mistake to telegraph it with the name “Trevelyan.”
I’d find it amusing to see a perfectly competent and motivated agent driven slowly mad as his career takes a back seat to “teacher’s pet” Bond in spite of 007’s recklessness, smart mouth and general disrespect for women, foreigners and authority figures. Can you imagine how irritating it would be to work with a guy who repeatedly quits or “goes rogue” and yet is still welcomed back into the fold time and time again? A guy whose rash actions bring negative headlines for the agency and get his boss called on the carpet before Parliamentary committees, a guy who routinely loses or destroys billions in agency ordinance, etc and still is lauded as “our best man”? A guy whose personal vehicle is a $1.3 million vintage sports car that Q branch has generously outfitted with lethal extras as a job perk? Etc.
I think it would be hilarious to watch Bond gradually drive a coworker the the depths of insanity and turn him into a supervillain. Granted it would probably work better as a streaming series, and with Bond reduced to a supporting role, but it would be fun. It’s just too bad Herbert Lom is dead.
Good fun and does turn the spotlight on Bond being a nuisance all round.
It has dawned on me that the “three films from three different perspectives” will mean only once will anything have to be written, thus saving a lot of money and future-proofing against strike action.
I am Barbara Broccoli.
In that light the „let’s drink to Bond and get back to work“- scene at the end of NTTD makes much more sense: they are actually relieved to be able to do their job properly again.
In a deleted scene M thanks Q for not telling Bond that there indeed was a cure for the nanobot virus.
Alas it’s a crapshoot whether any Bond film will end up a good one, though, so you don’t want to commit yourself to potentially recycling a stinker three times. TSWLM might be fun to watch from three perspectives, but would we really want to follow up DAD with two more tellings of DAD?
On the other hand, it definitely plays to EON’s strengths. If there’s one thing they’re experts at, it’s making the same movie over and over.
TSWLM for me would’ve worked as a way of introducing the new Bond actor, I think.
So, I’d go with that one.
You are quite right. Boy, Daniel Craig’s James Bond really was a piece of work. As you said, he really could do anything he wanted regardless of the consequences of his actions, couldn’t he? The previous Bonds could get away with a lot, but they nevertheless got results. Craig’s Bond? Not so much. He lost over $100 million in Casino Royale, couldn’t get back the undercover government agent ID list in Skyfall, goes behind his boss’ back on an unsanctioned mission (SPECTRE), caused international incidents in both CR and Sp, breaks into his boss’ home (CR), beats up her security detail (Quantum Of Solace), steals government equipment (Sp), accidentally kills an MI6 source of information in Blofeld in No Time To Die, causes others to break protocol to follow his whims (Sk and Sp), goes off on his own and his reckless action helps get M killed (Sk), quits every chance he gets (CR, Sk, SP, NTTD), and, of course, gives up and allows himself to die (NTTD). He really is a pain in the butt and not all that good at his job.
What has happened to our once great 007 who would routinely come through in the clutch and heroically save the world?
As M said in CR, “I miss the Cold War.”

Of the Bonds and/or Women making it to the end of their run, which is the least unlikely basis of a marginally more permanent relationship than the others? Including Never Say Never Again this time.
- Bond and Tiffany Case
- Bond and NSNA Domino
- Bond and Stacy Sutton
- Bond and Pam Bouvier
- Bond and Jinx

I can easily see Sean Connery’s Bond staying with both Tiffany Case and Domino Petachi.
Next I can see Timothy Dalton’s Bond staying with Pam Bouvier.
That means it comes down to Roger Moore’s Bond with Stacey Sutton and Pierce Brosnan’s Bond with Jinx Johnson and I think Brosnan’s Bond had more chemistry with Halle Berry than Moore’s did with Tanya Roberts. Also, I think Brosnan’s Bond wouldn’t get as quickly tired of the relationship as Moore’s Bond would, plus the age difference between Moore and Roberts was much greater, so Bond and Stacey Sutton get the vote.
Bond and Stacey, likely, as we’ve seen Bond cares for her, he put up a blanket on her when she’s sleeping and even turning off the lampshade at the same time, he also cooked a quiche for her, he did some domestic things for Stacey, he’s caring towards her, and he’s quite protective towards her too, so, I think Bond would end up dating her, but is he going to commit? I doubt it, after the trauma that he’d endured with Tracy, for sure, he’s afraid to commit again (assuming that this is still the same Bond as Lazenby), there’s no way that he’s going to marry another woman again, for the sake of putting them away from danger.
Connery would’ve likely to end up more with Domino from NSNA than he would do with Tiffany Case (he’d got annoyed with her in the third act, even calling her a stupid twat, and not taking her seriously, the way Bond treated Tiffany Case, in my opinion, didn’t aged well, it’s almost the same thing that Bond did with Mary Goodnight; look at that scene with Bond putting the tape recorder inside of Tiffany Case’s underwear as an example), on the other hand, with Domino from NSNA, he’d never treated her as badly as he did with Tiffany Case, so, more like would’ve been Domino from NSNA.
Bond and Jinx, I see it more as partners, I don’t even think Jinx would’ve taken Bond seriously as a romantic partner neither was Bond on Jinx, both of them are cold hearted professionals, but possibly they would live with each other for a while (probably a short time cohabitation), but their duties would’ve called them again and end up separating.
Bond and Pam Bouvier, now I see it as something more romantic than the other ones in here, there might be a possibility of Bond marrying her, but I don’t think (especially in the case of Dalton’s Bond), he would be close enough to Pam, I mean I don’t see much any romantic closeness from Bond, until Pam would’ve ended up pushing herself on Bond, but Bond (again, especially Dalton’s Bond) was too much distant and cold, in the start, there’s that flirtation, but as time goes by, he would gets more distant from Pam (because I think he would still never gave up from his mission and duty), so he would’ve still likely to prioritize his duty and mission over his time with Pam.
I think the phrasing of the original question threw you off. Jim’s asking which relationship has a better chance of lasting, so your answer would be DAF Bond and Tiffany.
Here’s my take:
Connery Bond is a Tom Cat incapable of commitment. I’d have had a hard time believing him settling down even with Tracy, so Tiff and Earth-B Vicki Vale are complete non-starters for me.
As for Roger-Bond, once he realized Stacey took the May/December routine uncomfortably closer to January/December, he’d come to his senses and go back to Octopussy. Contributing to his decision would be the constant shrieks of “James!” every time Stacey found a spider, lost her car keys or got a tangle in her hair. Maybe just out of chivalry he’d adopt her, but he wouldn’t marry her.
In the short term, Brosnan Bond and Jinx would grow closer thanks to their shared love of unfunny double-entendres that leave everyone else in the room confused and/or nauseated. Like many couples, they have their own language, although unlike any other couple, it’s scripted by Purvis and Wade, so eventually even they grow tired of it. Realizing she can no longer be considered “the female James Bond” if she’s married to the real deal, Jinx goes back to her solo career as a superspy who specializes in being taken hostage. Meanwhile Brosnan Bond sticks with what he knows: being the most psychologically tortured cologne ad model ever written into a PS1 game.
I give the nod to Dalton Bond and Pam, who will not settle down either, but will continue an on-again, off-again romance that persists for years. They will occasionally find themselves crossing paths on their respective assignments but also vacation together to go barefoot water skiing, which at Bond’s request Pam will do in a wet teddy.
Yes. Exactly. A proper understanding of the question puts me on the same page as you—Dalton Bond and Pam.
Bond and Stacey, in spite of all of the “loving” things Bond does for her. With Moore’s very obvious age in the film, he comes off as more (grand) fatherly towards her, making their hooking up at the end all the more creepy. This comes at the heels of their first encounter where Bond definitely gives off creepy, predatory vibes towards her and she immediately sees that. How we go from that to James! James! Don’t leave me! James! high pitch squeal JAMES! I’ll never know.
I envision a similar relationship to Bond and Honey, as shown in Pearson’s Authorised Biography of 007. They’re together, but like the end of the book he goes away for periods of time (upon her insistence, because she knows he needs to) and returns home.
If that’s the case then I’ll go with Sean Connery’s Bond and Domino Petachi.

It’s 1967 and the first Battle of the Bonds is underway. This time I do mean Casino Royale 1967.

I‘m so boringly traditional.
I love the main titles of CR67, they feel fresh
Who’s the victim in CR? M?
Nevertheless Aki’s death really hits home.
Who’s the victim in CR? M?
Yes; the Dench M’s death in Skyfall is evidently a homage to that.
(I might not be joking)
