I’m in a DAF phase at the moment. The near cremation scene is peak Bond swagger. The coffin lid lifts and he’s still in charge with leverage and humour. Anyone else would be terrified and unable to move. “Where the hell do you think you’re going?” - “I hear the Hotel Tropicana is quite comfortable, my condolences gentlemen.” Priceless.
I also love the amount of deception Bond uses throughout the film. The pocket trap. The fake make out session when Franks arrives. The fake fingerprints, Bond being a brother in mourning, the voice changing telephone, pretending he has an access card when entering the facility with Klaus and later switching the tapes. For a film this entertaining there’s a lot of spy craft and improvisation going on.
