Makes perfect sense. I would argue that DAF Bond is the inheritor of two timelines: the YOLT timeline, and the OHMSS timeline. The movie starts in Japan, where we last saw Connery Bond, but M’s comments about Blofeld being dead, and MI6 now expecting Bond to do some work nods toward to the OHMSS timeline-h/t @Stbernard
Similar to be demanding and receiving $1.25 million for a role, with a two-picture movie deal thrown in as a sweetener. “The least you can do is act this time, Sean.”
