Movies: Presumably 2025, maybe Beyond

$70 million more and it will pass Quantum of Solace. And I believe I’m correct in assuming it hasn’t fully opened in certain markets yet including Australia and China.

In The Netherlands 1 milion people went to see NTTD in the first three weeks of its release, that’s a lot I suppose?

Given the circumstances it definitely is.

I am very happy about this and at the same time can safely say that I should never predict any box office grosses anymore:

I was holding off watching it in case I really liked it and then it didn’t get part 2.

This film is now how I’m spending my evening.

So… how did you like it?

I loved it. That ending would’ve been frustrating if I’d seen it before part 2 was commissioned.

I want to watch it again before I review properly, it isn’t light.

Halloween Kills. Excellent grown up horror movie with sly wit and something quite profound to say about family and shared trauma. These two films are extraordinary companion pieces to the original.

I’m thinking King is happy with who is making The Running Man right now…

…the same feeling towards this as Nolan directing Bond, only more so. Love Wright as a director going back as far as Spaced in 99, but what makes Wright brilliant as a director would be lost in a Bond film.

I don´t know - Wright seems to excel when he dives into genre to make it live again. For my taste, he is not as good with theme and character, staying too much in genre conventions - but for Bond that would be absolutely okay.

Wright would agree with you. He mentioned when promoting Sparks that he’s never considered himself a writer, despite having co-written all his own films (with Baby Driver being a solo writing gig) because he was always more interested in creative direction.

I’ve seen Wright mention that RTD did ask if he was interested in directing their first block of episodes when they brought back Doctor Who (he couldn’t because he was still working on Shaun of The Dead) so I’d be curious if Russel brings the offer back to him when he returns to the showrunner job for Doctor Who’s 60th, as that is a job he’d be good for and the series has not lacked for Wright’s Spaced/Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy cohorts…

Personally, I hope they just lock down CJF and get production beginning on Bond 26 ASAP.

Eon will already be discussing it, but we won’t get anything on it until after the Amazon buy out goes through at the earliest.

As much as I enjoyed Fukanaga‘s work I would prefer someone totally new to the franchise to reboot.
