News on BOND 25

If they have a title – which is by no means guaranteed at this stage – I suppose we could start hearing rumors in the next couple of weeks.

Beyond the Ice, surely…

As SAF mentioned above, even jourmalists have to plan ahead. This isn’t politics, where announcements may come by surprise. This is entertainment, where they want to make sure that (especially in case of a Bond movie announcement) a large part of worldwide media outlets are present.

A point SAF already did a fine job making and I agree with him.

London journalists still have schedules and other stuff to attend to. So, there will be a heads up in advance. Soon.

Guys, I think you’re misreading what I meant by my posts, or I worded them poorly.

I never meant to say journalists find out 2 days before the event. My post about us finding out 2 days before the Spectre event was meant to be a completely unrelated thought.

I am not disagreeing with you…

Sorry, my last post got in with delayed and bad timing - it was not meant to grandstand.

What are the odds the title is Shatterhand?

It seems to me we had more “insight” to the last film at this juncture, enough that several of us correctly guessed the title. As much as Shatterhand would be an outstanding title, I just don’t feel like there is enough info to point in that direction. The only possiblility is if that character disguised themselves as someone of middle-eastern descent (the current rumors of a Rami Malek like character). I feel like we’ll get a more From Russia With Love type title, but I’m at a loss.

I think the Boyle-led project was going to be a FRWL-esque thriller. However, from the rumors we’ve gotten this time, it somewhat sounds like Spectre 2.0 (though we won’t know for sure until the official announcement, which is hopefully coming soon…). In the latter case, Shatterhand would probably be the title. However, if it were the former (which I’d prefer), it’s very unlikely.

Which rumors are you referring to?

I only remember that the script by P&W was rumored to have Bond having a young female agent at his side. What else did you hear/read and where?

I’d be interested to know of those rumors as well. Everything I’ve read has been purposely “neutral” of leading us in a direction, except several articles prior to Danny Boyle’s involvement that hinted at Craig’s deep desire to have his own FRWL. Perhaps the rebirth of SMERSH in some modern setting? Sure wish we’d hear a press conference date.

I guess he doesn’t wish for a FRWL copy but for a tight thriller, rather than another extravaganza.

Oh, my thoughts exactly. No one wants to see a rehash of the original. One idea that has not been explored (at least to my knowledge) is a play on TMWTGG where an agent is brainwashed by Russians (SMERSH?) to assassinate M - or possibly in this case - a young MI6 female agent brainwashed to assassinate a retired Bond - only to fail but succeed in killing Dr. Madeline Swann instead. Bond comes out of retirement, and… oh well not this topic’s focus…but you get my drift. Tight and thriller minded.

It’d be a good hook if in order to track down the big bad Bond has to work with the agent that killed Maddy. She’s been ‘un-brain washed’ by Mi6, or has she? Was she ever?

Lots of paranoia built in that i can see Boyle, CJF and Craig loving. Also reminiscent of FRWL; is Tatiana an innocent, or leading Bond into a trap; is Grant who he says he is? red wine with fish - surely not.

Perhaps this ‘who is really who’ dynamic is what Craig meant when wanting his FRWL.

Just a small piece of news:

  • the tests that we saw on February 11th correspond to scenes related to “vehicles”, since Yves Girard is specialized in this type of action and it seems that he will be the coordinator of vehicle specialists in the film (not necessarily “cars”). Furthermore, these essays would be variations on a scene already prepared, in case in the filming set arise different alternatives and thus be able to offer them to the director and the director of the second unit.

  • In addition, the tests of the specialists would have begun at the beginning of January, which confirms that the filming start date is still on March 4th.

  • The secrecy in the EON and the 007 Stage is impressive. Only those who work on the film with their corresponding identification enter the studio, there are security arcs, antenna inhibitors … It looks like Fort Knox! (Well, this we already knew…).

  • The most likely dates for the press conference to present the film at the 007 Stage, as happened with SPECTRE, would be: February 28th or March 8th. (I know, this is not much, but…)

Interesting…I would hope and most likely expect Feb. 28th to be the press conference date…they usually hold it a day or so before filming begins. :crossed_fingers: :sunglasses:

Great post! Which ever date it is, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t incandescent with excitement…

I’d have to look again, it’s been awhile. But I know I’ve seen at least 2 separate articles that claimed Fukunaga was going to be working off a completed script that was a continuation of Spectre and had the working title of Shatterhand. Granted, it’s rumor and speculation so who really knows? Personally, I hope it’s an original story.

I know those articles - both were completely fabricated and not to be believed.
