News on NO TIME TO DIE (no spoilers)

As long as it’s not London. As much as I love my fair city, after Skyfall and Spectre, I’ve had enough of seeing it. Jamaica would be nice! Back to where it all began…

Well, maybe we’ll see if there’s any truth to those rumors of scouting in Croatia.

I’m hoping so. The coastline there would look spectacular on screen.

It was the Mail carrying the story. The Mirror reported it first.

south korea are pushing for a lot of film productions at the moment could see them going there, could australia or new zealand finally get its shot?

I’m reminded of the Forbes article in 2012 which stated that DC had signed a 2 picture extension after Skyfall for a package that could be worth 50million…
That’s why I won a tidy sum betting on Craig to return for Bond 25( I also won in 2005 when I bet on him for the first time :smirk:)
I think the story is the usual fluff, however if 25 makes Skyfall levels at the box office , I would suggest he would have earned 50million

Our absent lady about these boards, Miss Gala Brand, is Croation and will be headed there at some point over the summer. She’s been ‘read in’ and has assured me she’ll be making some enquiries. Nothing more solid than one of our own in the field who knows the local score.

Depends if they’re still holding a grudge against Die Another Day, they managed to piss off the North and the South with that one.

With Boyle confirmed at the helm, does anyone have any thoughts on casting? Reason I ask is because he uses some of the same people repeatedly: Cillian Murphy, Ewan McGregor, Christopher Eccleston. Also Robert Carlyle and Naomie Harris but they’re already established in the world of Bond.

Cillian Murphy will surely be saved for Christopher Nolan

Murphy already has MANY villains on his CV (though none for Boyle) so I imagine his name will be brought up if it hasn’t been already. He has already cast one (Harris had worked on 28 Days Later and Frankenstein for Boyle so he suggested she’d be good for their reinvention of Moneypenny)

So (sticking to Boyle recurring) Christopher Eccleston and Jonny Lee Miller both have Bond connections already (opposite Craig in our friends from the north for CE, then the Lee in JLM’s name is from his grandfather Bernard) so that’ll be either make for brilliant trivia or will pull you out of the movie depending on your preference for such things.

As for McGregor, he is a FANTASTIC actor (see Fargo season 3 and Perfect Sense if you havn’t already) but there is a finite number of roles that he’d be a natural fit for - chief among them being “surprise” villain to go by his appearances in Haywire and Angels & Demons. Just musing here, he could also be a shoe in for the dark side of Bond style villain given he was speculated to be up for Casino Royale.

Casting would be down to whatever the script requires. Frankly, anything’s possible now, they could ignore SPECTRE, they could do SPECTRE II - This Time It’s A Killer Script, they could cast Eccleston as Blofeld, they could even bring back Mr White.

Or they scrap everything and do BOND 25 entirely unrelated to previous films, as if it was already another actor in the role of 007. Haven’t the foggiest…

Would be brilliant, oddly (HUGE SPOILERS FOR SHALLOW GRAVE AND 28 DAYS LATER) in keeping with the roles he’s already done for Boyle as resident psycho.

Ewan McGregor as a fellow 00 agent would be cool.

Of course he is.

Personally, I want Bond 25 to be a completely independent story from the previous films. No Blofeld, no SPECTRE, no Madeleine, be its own adventure. Much like Skyfall until Spectre did its awful retcon.

For those playing the drinking game, take another shot for the appearance of the slit the wrists quote again. 3 years later.

Just v excited to see things starting to happen. Can’t wait to see the villain cast: that usually gives a good indicator as to how good the film will be😬
