News on NO TIME TO DIE (no spoilers)

I thought he was Oberhouser? So now he’s not this Blofeld guy that he said he was?

“I’m a little…confused.”

Then we can start calling him OberShatterFeld or something to that effect.

Speaking of Felix…they simply HAVE to bring back the Brother From Langley for B25. It would be ridiculous for them to set up Bond’s best ally for 2 films (and his screentime was severely imited in QOS) and then never see him again.

He was born Franz Oberhauser, and Ernst Stavro Blofeld was an alias he used. If he finds a way out of jail, the filmmakers could have Blofeld using another alias, Guntram Shatterhand. That’d work for me.

Perhaps 25 will combine OHMSS and YOLT? Either Madeline Swan won’t b mentioned anymore or she’ll be killed off?

I don’t want to retread old ground either. I liked the way SPECTRE was a shadowy organization, I wish they would go back to that.

Well Spectre was in procession of Modigliani’s Woman with a Fan as seen in Skyfall and Spectre. More than likely they have other works of art as well either bought legitimately or stolen. They could take the Property of a Lady auction scene and blend it with Diamonds Are Forever and have Bond follow a trail of stolen art that leads him to Blofeld.

Would be fun to see a black market auction sequence in Bond.

That’s an interesting idea there Gobi. I like it (whether it’s used to go after Blofeld or another villain).

It good to know he doing one more then retiring

Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace both established that Mi6 other parts of the intelligence community had been infiltrated by Quantum/ SPECTRE. Since CR was about finding and shutting down their banker it would make a certain amount of sense that they’ve had to find an alternate method of paying off their people and artworks could be used to that effect. Admittedly it would have been more timely a few years ago but I think they could potentially make it work.

And thinking about it a black market art auction would be the perfect setting for a Bond film; a high class, black tie event filled with wealthy, powerful and dangerous people.

The black market/dark web auctions are certainly a viable setting. Sinister and anonymous enough for SPECTRE.

Agreed. And there will be little better opportunity to do so than now.

In giving it a little more thought, it is a great plot device. I’ve done some research on it over the years and it really is one of the more ‘under the radar’ things out there. There are collectors in some circles that operate almost like SPECTRE. Some people that have bribed, stolen and killed to obtain items for their personal collections. It’s about the having rather than the obtaining. Seriously scary individuals.

One of the two film DB5’s vanished from an aircraft hangar over 20 years ago. The owner eventually was paid out a four million + insurance claim.

It’s never been seen again. Rumors abound that it’s in the hands of a collector.

That’s amazing and scary.

Could you imagine if someone carjacked Bond’s Aston Martin and then he went on a John Wick rampage to get it back?

That story in itself would make a great film.

Believe me, it’s been discussed as the premise for a film. Also, amongst a few of us in fandom, we’ve speculated in an Oliver Stone sort of way, about investigating further than we have as to the missing DB5. It’s really just a matter of time, money, some travel, investigating and an overwhelming desire to not get killed.

These collectors are serious and play for keeps with no remorse.

Indeed. Look at CB.

It would be a “no thanks” from me…

I like Newmans two scores so I wouldn’t complain, however I don’t think that’s true. Composer will not be chosen until the director is, same as the DOP or, indeed any of the crew. whilst there are of course EONs go to people (like David Arnold, Daniel Kleinman, Chris Corbould etc) it is directors choice and most directors have certain people they always want to use on their films.

Clickbait.

Without a doubt. No way a composer has been selected yet, and certainly not announced, until after a director has been put in place and presented publicly. And yes, as @Orion points out, the director will choose composer and DOP.
