If Villeneuve were to take on Bond 25, I would give anything for him to bring along the two secret weapons from Bladerunner 2049, Ana De Armas and Sylvia Hoeks.
They are a classic Bond girl pairing.
Sylvia Hoeks as Irma Bunt would be AMAZING.
I donât know why Villeneueve wants to do Dune. Thatâs sure to flop at the box office, must be a personal project close to his heart or something.
Nah, I think he will sign on for Bond 25. Explains why he says he canât talk about it. Babs and Mike are trying to sort out a deal behind the scenes with him, I hope!
Hes one of these film makers who makes a film because he wants to tell a story rather than to make money. Fortunately BB vocally prefers the former over the latter, hence makes theatre and small movies around Bond.
**Blade Runner 2049 to Bond 25: yes, Mr Villeneuve, we expect you to direct **

Well said.
Clearly, some talking has been going on, but it seems to depend on availability. IMO, Dune has been sifting and sitting for some time, so I doubt itâs near a script or preproduction stages and probably will (or needs to) stew for a bit longer.
The whole âcanât talk about itâ bit though does ring true of Eon more so than any other producers. Maybe Villeneuve is under an OSA at this point as negotiations are going on. Also, could this point back to WB becoming Bondâs new home?
Curiouser and curiouserâŚ
Everyoneâs making a big deal about Villeneuve saying he canât talk but has anyone tried asking Demange or MacKenzie about their involvement? Itâs possible they all had to sign non-disclosure agreements when they took the meeting.
Those things do have a time limit, but id point to Christopher Nolan and his remarks on Bond. He has talked with them and is very open about it (basically would like to do one some day, but when they are next doing a big shake up which the series doesnât need yet in his view). If Villenveuve is still at the âcanât talk about itâ stage, his waver is still going which, going by Nolan and, indeed, Roger Michell who spoke with them for QOS (he didnât do it because he wasnât comfortable with how little prep time heâd get in) talks have to still be happening for them not to talk.
Indeed. From my past in entertainment law, NDAâs are created on a case by case scenario. I once signed one that bound me to three years or to within 60 days prior to release of said project. Iâve also drafted 12 hour hold gag orders. I suspect that whatever talks being conducted are tied to distribution discussions. Also, yes, they are most certainly still ongoing.
One name we can rule out is Paul McGuigan
BB being as politely vague with her âIâm not pulling attention away from this small movie at its premiereâ as it is possible to be.
Okay! So, McGuigan´s out. They probably want a bigger name.
There is an âarticleâ on tabloid blog http://hollywoodlife.com/2017/10/13/who-is-directing-james-bond-25-christopher-nolan/
Donât read it. Theyâll think they are more popular than they are. Basically tries to reignite the Nolan rumour by quoting a âsourceâ who blatantly hasnât watched Craigâs 4 Bond films, as they seem to think that Nolan would go in a ânew directionâ to tackle Bond as a womaniserâŚdespite thatâs been front and centre of the entire Craig run, actually being talked about with characters chastising Bond for it - In fact itâs arguably the entire point of Casino Royale!
SorryâŚbut when just watching the films you are talking about counts as more research than these (self-censoring) do, it makes me angry.
On the Villeneuve front, this was part of an interview he did where listed his favourite films of this century https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DMEECCLU8AAocCH?format=jpg
Itâs a good list, Inception is my favourite film! Youâll notice, though, they all have one thing in common - A heavy emphasis on visual storytelling
I dont see CR that way myself!
Heâs not chastised for womanising -in fact M is not phased by it all, more or less seeing it as a tool of the trade.
To be chastised for it is pretty old shcool; chivalry has had no place in the rebooted modern espionage of bond since Dalton quit.
One reason for the absense of chivalry since Brossa began could be that having a female M makes it permissible to endorse womanising in the PC era. Perhaps now that we have a male M we will indeed see chivalry unrealistically crow barred back into bond to appease the PC brigade.
Also, womanising has been fairly peripheral in Craigâs films - thereâs been an emphasis upon more emotional relationships; 2 out of 4 having him fall in love.
So I think that a return of a bond whoâs not emotionally available, instead getting his kicks from the sex and violence would a change from the craig era.
I imagine this source is full of it, but if it were true I trust Nolanâs sensibility and wouldnât judge this direction prematurely.
I donât doubt Nolanâs ability, I just donât think that it is a departure, as I disagree with your reading of Craigâs films, as,yes they move away from just saying it (though the women he has genuine feelings for - Vesper, M and Madeline - all do) the narratives themselves promote a better treatment of women, making it far more sub-textual, which is the type of narrative Nolan prefers (indeed where Craigâs era acknowledgedly lifts many things)
Just reheated old rumours and speculating, probably based upon theories found here: doing the OHMSS-ending as the beginning for BOND 25.
I wouldnât read much into the source of the Nolan item from yesterday. I would love to see him take on Bond (and hear a Hans Zimmer Bond score).
This sounds completely made up
