I’m sure that EON has at least a very loose story outline by now. Is PWB writing again while directing? Maybe she’ll be like John Glen, in the moving up regard.
EON has at least a very loose story outine?
Let me guess: Bond goes rogue this time and finds out that something from his past, perhaps even family related, is haunting him, luckily he gets help from Monepenny and Q behind M’s back. Something like that?

If Purvis and Wade are writing probably, lol. I’m just a hair more optimistic about that.
Nothing in that hugely dubious website signals any interest of EON in Berger, and the claim that his name circulates around town is silly and awkward, but his agent will be happy to have done something.
In other words: this is as reliable as saying Gerard Butler is the next Bond.
I hope not.
There’s no way that Craig will have a vote in the next actor.
And if he does, EON has officially lost the plot and should sell off their stake in the character and franchise to someone else.
Frankly I wouldn’t be suprised if this is something Eon/BB would allow. He got a producer credit for Spectre and NTTD, surely that won’t continue on. Would be absolutely ridiculous. But again wouldn’t be surprised, they seem unable to move past him.
„Closer weekly“.
O-kaaaay…
This is clearly bait. Yes, i get it, Craig has now moved into the “cool to hate on the last guy” bit EVERY Bond goes through, but maybe check the source before joining in.
TBH I don’t think Craig gives a flying toss who is Bond 7.
Unless Eon sold itself in part to Craig - behind the scenes and without good reason or evidence that we’re aware of - this is BS.
Bond is still one of the most valuable assets in the industry. No doubt, Craig made significant money on the whole show, probably more than any other actor before him. But this is still a long way from handing him the business, even if only in part. Moreover, judging by all the evidence of Craig’s activities since, he’s successfully moved on. We certainly don’t get any vibes of looking back in anger between him and Eon house.
What may be hugely influential coming from him will be the verdict on the successor and the next film. But I strongly doubt that will be anything but supportive, encouraging, probably even enthusiastic.
Barbara said they’re reinventing Bond and production is around two years away. I believe that comment was made in June 2022. It does make you think about where they actually are in the process. Being the optimist I’m still hoping for an announcement towards the end of the year. There’s a lot of rubbish flying around trying to be ‘proven right’, because sooner or later something is going to happen.
Barbara said “ at least two years before the next 007 movie begins filming”
We aren’t close to filming sadly , we don’t even know who’s writing the script or if production has started
Well, at least would suggest it may be significantly more.
Thing is, a commodity like Bond won’t lie dormant for ever, there’s certain to be some activity. We just don’t get told as yet.
Maybe EON and IO Interactive will finish Bond 26 and Project 007 at about the same time. Perhaps we can expect an announcement sometime around 2037 for the 75th Anniversary of Dr. No
Oh, There’s no question of it remaining dominant that’s for sure.
The 4 year wait between Spectre and the initial planned release of NTTD pre COVID or the 4 year wait between QOS and SF , shows a different trend sadly
To be fair, the four year wait between Quantum of Solace and Skyfall wasn’t really EON’s fault. MGM was having one of their famous bouts of financial trouble around that point.
The rest of the delays are entirely on EON (outside of the two years added on to the already substantial four years between Spectre and No Time to Die).
The gap between Spectre and No Time To Die was also another MGM being surprised they have no money delay…followed by Danny Boyle jumping ship.
But we got Knives Out from it, so every cloud and all that
Neither Christopher Nolan or Johnathon Nolan have any projects listed under IMDB. Maybe they are just taking a break. But I would love to think they have a handshake agreement and are working on a script together that will inform the casting choice. Entirely speculative on my part but at least I am only writing a post on a discussion board and not an article for a newspaper.
I have occasionally thought of putting a poll up on here as to when there will be an announcement of the next film (I don’t think I have seen one). My own guess is Spring 2025 (though last year I would have said 2024). So no formal poll (at least from me), but when do people think we will get an announcement?
I’d say December 2024.
While it’s by now a staple of the speculative Bond-gazing business, and therefore perhaps less likely than many other possibilities, it would certainly fuel the media response much like Danny Boyle’s involvement - briefly - did. If people could overcome their respective red lines…this would be a perfect coup to stage Bond’s comeback.
