Tally ho, reference hunters

Felix’s cigar, the Delectado, is a DAD reference. That brand did not exist before DAD - only after that film came out did some cigar manufacturers begin to produce their own brands with that name.

I was wondering about that

It is subtle enough that, if you didn’t already suspect she is pregnant, you wouldn’t think about it. Her hand is somewhere between heart and stomach, it could as well be heartache.

Indeed, it’s all good. The moment really works and helps sell her sense of loss.

That’s how I interpreted it An emotional gut punch. Her whole planned life is turned upside down at this point.

I liked the imagery of a trident being in the opening credits foreshadowing the climax when Q is watching Bond and Nomi’s progress via Q-Dar and Bond’s avatar is a trident.

I thought Nomi removing her wig to reveal her short hair seemed like a nod to Rosie Carver doing the same in LALD.

That’s what I thought to. Nice shout out to the last time they were in Jamaica

I suspected she was pregnant the moment she touched her tummy. It’s pretty on-the-nose foreshadowing.

Maybe this has already been mentioned, but did anyone notice Bond’s killing of Primo being reminiscent of the stairwell scene with Vesper in Casino Royale?

Yes yes YES. It’s the bit just as the “one shot take” ends, he grabs him and they leap down the stairs before Bond ends up blowing his mind lol. My immediate thought was CR and the staircase fight.

An indirect reference could be the Aston Martin Superleggera being over-hyped and then barely used in the film like the BMW Z3 in Goldeneye. I also kind of wished we could have seen the Vantage’s gadgets get used (in Norway perhaps).

Aston wanted their new car in it, Eon just wanted the older 2.

The dots.

The dots were amazing.

One of my favorite things about the movie.

I need more dots in my life.

I love those dots, anyway. The use of them is one of my tricks when I want to get a subtle hint of Bond into one of my designs (used them for a CBn Xmas card a few years ago).

The first time I saw it was a press screening, so I had to behave.

In a regular premiere, I would have gone “Whoa, how cool is that?!” for those dots, much to the annoyance of the rest of the audience.
