The rest is just marketing.
But no wonder the studios would prefer to take the serious critics out and replace them with sycophants.

I have always seen it as Willard’s fantasy, he’s seeing what he wants to see, that colonial vision of the white saviour in the jungle. The reality I see when I look at it, is that BrandoKurtz is imprisoned by the ‘army’ he thought he created. They are fattening him for the slaughter. He gets Willard to it more quickly. I also think it’s Willard who kills Chef and sees himself as BrandoKurtz in that moment.

I shall look forward to it!. It was the similarity of the makeup on both actors and the weapon used that always struck me as being identical and therefore an intentional mirror.

I do prefer the original cut though
One that immediately comes to mind is “The Nice Guys” starring Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe. This gem is a hilarious, '70s-set buddy-cop film that flew under the radar during its initial release. It’s got wit, charm, and killer chemistry between the two leads. Trust me; it’s a hidden masterpiece waiting to be discovered.

I loved it the first time. The second time I got a little bored by the labyrinthine plot. But Gosling and Crowe are a great couple.
