What do you think about the NTTD release date?

I think if they wanted to move Marvel to D+ they could, including changing up the contracts accordingly.

What they’re doing here I think is using the promise of future Marvel and other movies in cinemas in 2021 to test the waters on VOD/streaming. They don’t want to upset cinemas too quickly (which they already are, but they will really lose it if something like Black Widow goes to D+.)

After all, for a film like Black Widow or NTTD, the traditional release model is still the most profitable.

Anyone see that Apple used the James Bond theme for their advert about the new iPhone 12?
It’s set lots of tongues a-wagging that Apple might be acquiring MGM and distributing NTTD on their streaming service.

All speculation though, probably means nothing…

I was honestly looking for a thread to post that in but I couldn’t find any . You could imagine the smile on my face when I was delighted by the sights and the sounds of both the brands I love

James Bond will return in… Thunderbolt!

It is weird, though. They don’t play this just for fun, do they? They also would have EON/MGM to agree, I suppose?

I guess Eon would have no reason to say no: a high profile prestige launch to keep the delayed film in the public consciousness. Not too sure how Sony would feel about it though!

And let’s not forget Nokia. Another official sponsor of NTTD.

Yes, and pay them something maybe? I suppose Apple have the money, and the theme is very iconic. Hmmm, still seems strange though.

But the thing is: Sony and Nokia are in the film - Apple is not.

Hopefully there’s nothing to this. Apple is probably the platform I’d least like to see Bond on. There’d be lingering shots of the Mac on M’s desk, close ups of Bond’s Apple watch and scenes of Q developing the Carte Blanche-esq apps for the latest iPhone.

As opposed to all the other brands in Bond films?

Cause Sony were so subtle?

Saw this in my local supermarket earlier, looks like the promotion is going ahead, despite the release date set back

Guess that the promo material was already printed and sent to the dealers. Possible that there are certain legal problems when trying to stop this kind of competitions and sweepstakes once they’re out.

IIRC from the past, the 007 Heineken campaigns always start rather early. Back in February, I bought a 007 branded six-pack of Heineken at my local gas station. It’s still sitting on my shelf, unopened. At one point, I intended to keep it for the streaming premiere. But as it looks like this is not going to happen, I need to find a different occasion to drink it, as the drink-by date is 02/2021.

Three weeks ago, I was at that gas station once again, and the 007 Heinekens were replaced by regular ones. But they had something else to go with each six-pack:

Luckily, I got one for free without having to buy another six-pack.

It appears as though the 007 channel has returned to Pluto TV. All movies from Dr. No to TWINE are available as well as broadcast 24/7. Even CR’54 and NSNA are available. No DAD, Daniel Craig, or CR’67 though. Caught the end of FYEO and watching Thunderball now.

Oh come on, it’s not like you couldn’t go a whole five minutes in Casino Royale without seeing a Sony laptop… or phone… or Blu-ray player…or digital camera…and so on.

Are you American?

Please know that I do intend on mocking the stereotype of Americans not understanding sarcasm.

I was agreeing with you while also being sarcastic… but whatever.
