Funny you say that. I’ve been watching Clint Eastwood films lately. The Dollars Trilogy, Dirty Harry, Magnum Force, Unforgiven, Escape From Alcatraz, High Plains Drifter, etc. I watched these as a kid and still find enjoyment and nostalgia in them. It’s not transformative acting from Clint, it’s a movie star presence that very few have.

I loved it. It nails the Cape vibes perfectly and the cast is uniformly excellent, especially Banderas and Sessa as a young Bourdain. It follows a pretty standard coming of age formula but it doesn’t matter. The quiet moments are what bring it all home. It’s also hard not to feel sad taking it all in. The man’s absence and the tragedy surrounding it doesn’t get easier with time. I hope this one does well.
