Honestly wouldn’t mind a novelization of Skyfall.
“No Bond”?
Sounds right on point for the “James Bond” franchise.
Touché.
But at least in this case, the official James Bond publisher, IFP, has no involvement in this latest book without Bond.
I must say it´s probably the right idea to keep Bond from those novels at this point.
That doesn’t mean I want to read these. I just think as long as the next iteration of Bond is not thought out it would be pointless.
The worrying thing is if I actually like the direction they take when he does return. I’ll give them a chance, but I won’t deny my palms will be sweating when I click on the article outlining the new actor and chosen plotline.
Indeed, a regular Bond novel is probably best launched once it can tap into the projected film(s). A project like Solo or Forever and a Day would only sap away attention from the film relaunch. And any present day reboot would have to play well with the version Amazon is going to put onto the screen. Thus the chances for an adult Bond novel are likely best once the script and tone of BOND 26 crystallise from the mists of production.
Unfortunately for us novel 007 fans hoping for a new James Bond adventure sooner, you are probably right.
Happy 72th publishing day to Casino Royale! I’m sure this has been posted before, but it is truly interesting.
