It’s too bad that FRWL was a one off video game. They should have done a whole series of adaptions or originals with the previous Bond actors. Imagine if Lazenby or Dalton had gotten to be in more Bond adventures.

Rogue Agent had fun weaponry but I sincerely hope the genuflecting to GE64 is over. It was good for its time but it doesn’t hold up now. The World is not Enough was the superior experience and NightFire has the best multiplayer. I did like GE Reloaded. It’s actually a pretty fun amalgamation of my two lived Bond eras, and is Activision’s high point. But that should be it now. Onwards and upwards with a clean slate.
That would have been the ultimate.

I agree with both of your sentiments. The World Is Not Enough is better than Goldeneye (which is so dated it’s embarrassing at this point) and Nightfire is the best James Bond FPS.
EDIT: I should clarify that I’m referring to the console version of Nightfire. The PC version is much rougher.

After a delay of several days I’m pleased to see the Casino Suit, Gilded Wraith and On Duty rewards finally visible on my IO account.
The Le Chiffre mission on Hitman is pretty fun, too. A number of nice Bond Easter eggs thrown in there. Two good ones are a character ordering a shaken not stirred drink and being asked if you have a licence to kill.

I’m gonna load up Hitman and play this, this week. It seems pretty cool and the closest thing we’ve gotten to a proper Bond game since 007 Legends (Cypher 007 doesn’t really count).

We’ll see what happens but I like the idea of 009 being from the old 00 Section. An experienced veteran up against the young rookie, mocking Bond about aligning with MI6 in a similar way Silva did in Skyfall. When you take him down the next generation of agents would be in charge. It would be quite different to the dynamic they had with 006 in GE.

Good choice. I like the synergy of one early years Bond wearing the attire of another. I suspect that will appear in my IO rewards and bonuses in the coming days.

I think it’s a very cool touch to have the Aston Martin DBS resemble Roger Moore’s from The Persuaders. It goes with what the creators are saying about this version - he’s still not yet ‘Bond’, just as Moore plays Brett Sinclair in that series, but he’s getting there.

Looks like they still have a few kinks to work out with the graphics. Looks fun, though. The set design is great and that sequence at the end (and the music!) was spectacular. If anything threw me off it was the March release date despite the frame rate and the graphics still looking like they’re a ways off from being complete. I could not be rooting for this project harder. I hope they pull it off.

That’s IO’s engine. It can do a lot, but it isn’t the best looking thing out there. I think it looks great. Great performances, great set pieces, the gameplay looks fun. I hope there’s a way to disable the HUD as that seems intrusive, but otherwise I’m sold. Can’t wait, it releases March 27.

They nailed the tone and I do love the character interactions. The voicework is uniformly great, but Bond especially is a lot of fun. Still, the highlight for me is the score. That’s some real good work. This looks like a game you can take your time with which is neat. We’ll see how it all turns out but I don’t think anyone can say these folks don’t get what it’s all about. They clearly love this stuff like we do.

Looks fun, like I thought it would be. Brings back memories of playing the games back in the day. What I like is the scale it seems to have with the driving and freefalling, with the quieter stuff like combat and stealth serving as a prelude to that. I can see myself spending hours with this. The March release date is a lot sooner than I expected which is a pleasant surprise. I’ll watch the video again later today.

Loved it. I cannot wait to play it. I bought my PS5, three years ago just to play this game. I was surprised by the March release date too but someone on social media speculates that IO wants the game out BEFORE Grand Theft Auto 6 debuts in May. Makes sense.
