A period film would be a great way to make sure their new Bond franchise is a failure before it even reaches cinemas.

After reading the article that point is just guesswork on behalf of the author. I’m fine with casting getting done sooner rather than later, though. What will be will be.

By the way, the German streaming charts for Amazon this week lists five Bond movies in the top 10.
All are Craig‘s Bond films.

Not surprised. Recency bias is strong and I can almost guarantee modern audiences (as in younger audiences) would not have the patience for the slow burn of Dr. No or From Russia with Love.

They seem to have been right on a lot of things Bond.
Especially around the Alfonso Cuaron saga.
For this year, so don’t expect anything Bond-related.

Every day is a day closer. Even without a clue about casting I’m ready for it. I feel like nothing has happened before today with Bond. It’s a blank slate - back to 2006 all over again and I don’t think that’s a bad thing at all.

I doubt it, with the full likely penciled in for 2028, but who knows? Maybe they’ll announce the next Bond.

It’s the Super Bowl weekend, traditionally slow at the box office. Every movie will perform worse.
Yet Amazon explicitly puts out a press release telling the world that this documentary is already a huge success and will continue to delight audiences.
Yeah, that company now owns our guy.

This movie is an abysmal bomb and has played to mostly empty theaters outside of the most die hard major MAGA centers. Amazon has to “justify” its $75 million bribe to the current American administration somehow. They do scare me for Bond, but I’m still willing to give them the benefit of the doubt….one time….
