Odd to watch now, given one of them has since been in a Bond film…

Hugh Dennis’s appearance in NTTD is still the weirdest part of that film for me.

I think it might be a brit thing

Yep, as a Yank I had to Google the name to see who that was. I did the same thing with the Agent Provocateur line in Skyfall

It’s like how if you’re from the UK you don’t really notice how weird it is that Wayne Newton is in Licence to Kill. Beyond that fact that any Bond film has a televangelist/ drug dealer amongst it’s cast.

As an American I’m trying to remember how I reacted to it in '89… He was Mr. Vegas but he had also acted in film/TV since the 60’s. If I remember correctly he had just come off playing a general in a Civil War miniseries the year or so before. I think I was more taken aback by such a silly character being in a hard edge movie rather than Newton himself…

Before LTK I had never heard of him and I think most people in The Netherlands didn’t.

Only because The King was gone… Sadly! Always loved Elvis Presley, but I was amazed when - years ago, I discovered the Elvis/James Bond co-incidences… Wayne Newton was memorable in LTK though - Bless His Heart!

Too soon? (Image created by AI. Not the evil kind, but a really friendly AI that doesn’t want to convert all the oxygen from the atmosphere into Phosgene gas

or anything)

Fairy nuff - except I told the AI what I wanted - it - eventually, gave me this image and I slapped the logo on with Gimp. Which isn’t a chap in rubber I keep in the basement - we don’t have a basement, nor a chap in rubber as it happens…
