More of a group effort, this category. However, if you have a particular favourite and wish them to be the sole recipient of your vote, knock yourself out. Before they do.
I prefer to see them as one amorphous mass of naughtiness. The second-stringers, if you like, whether or not they do actually get a pop at Bond and whether or not they are working together.
Having deathbitten and deathstabbed and deathgouged our way through main Villain(s) and main Henchperson(s), suggestions for this non-exhaustive hostile gestalt of leftovers:
Moonraker – on the basis we counted Charrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr as a main henchbod earlier in the year, this group would include Jaws. That’s some group already. Dobermans, perfect peoples, reanimated corpses and an ambulance driver. It’s a broad church / girthsome mosque / synagogue blessed with avoirdupois / fatty mormon temple, is it not?
Goldfinger – would include Kisch, probably the most underappreciated villain of the series (in that he is one of the few that appears competent), Machine Gun Granny and loads of slightly pointless gangsters. And the bloke who gets fried in the bathtub.
Licence to Kill – oh, all sorts of pimholes depicted in an unnervingly racist way. Professor Joe! A big shark! Senor Montolongo’s teeth! Whoever cut Timothy Dalt-Ton’s hair! Whoever set the budget at thruppence!
TWINE – I can’t be bothered to remember many of these. That Goldie, I think he does “poppy” “music”, and the Cigar woman and probably some other bores. It’s just The Trough of Tedium. That said, you can include Patrick Malahide who is another Lost Blofeld, along with Steven Berkoff, Monica Bellucci and Timothy Dalt-Ton.
DAD – in Live and Let Die, there’s a fifteen foot unkillable voodoo demon. In Die Another Day, it’s Mr Kil with a hair grip. The descent. Batch here obviously includes Miranda Frost and sundry others, like that inventor chap who resembles a thinned-out Boris Johnson. Also Madonna. In a speaking role. Or for that matter, a singing role.
Voting closes 3 December.
