Double bill with NTTD?

So I’ve been thinking about this for a while. What Bond movie makes a good double bill with No Time to Die?

Obviously, there’s SPECTRE. And OHMSS. But what should one watch after? Dr No? For Your Eyes Only? Casino Royale 1967?

Goldeneye. It’s a fantasy but very similar to Matilde’s dad.

The first Bond I watched after seeing NTTD was Casino Royale '06 (it was screened on the big screen after a Bond theme song concert - was an excellent night!). It actually worked really well so that might be my pick: NTTD - CR.

Watching CR so soon after NTTD it really struck me how young Bond/Craig was in CR so it really made the ‘rookie double 0’ aspect work.
Also adds a touch of melancholy to CR as you know the fate awaiting most of the characters.
And of course there are so many uplifting moments in CR, perfect for after the sombre NTTD ending. Seeing it on the big screen with an audience (slightly tipsy mind - many Martinis were served!) there were big cheers and applause at the gunbarrel moment, the beach scene, the dinner jacket moment, “the last hand nearly killed me” and the final line. It really struck me again how satisfying that film was and how fantastic those “becoming Bond” moments were.

Since you mentioned it – could be an interesting evening:

Start the evening with NTTD, with a friend or two who should have seen it before. After that, go out and have a few and a Martini or three, then go back and watch CR’67 (and have more beer). :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: (it’s btw the other Bond movie in which James Bond dies. 007 of them. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

Doesn’t he have a daughter in that one too?

And with the villain being Dr Noah? NTTD is actually an homage to CR67, not OHMSS.

That’s definitely the double bill CR67/ NTTD
