Pay for the LLL cd!

I hope to get to it, but the timing is tough with all the outflow for Christmas (most of which, I keep reminding myself, should be going to gifts for others). MR was an instant buy, but I’m hoping GG won’t sell out before I can get around to it.

Other than that I DO like Lulu’s The Man With The Golden Gun song, I agree. (I find it fun and playful.) But why they ever put out that jazz instrumental version of TMWTGG I’ll never know. The parts of it heard in the Scaramanga’s funhouse sequences BARELY work, but to go with a whole entire song of it is mind-boggling, particularly when there were other options and the full jazz instrumental wasn’t even in the film. :face_with_spiral_eyes: It is a complete waste of space and no doubt contributed to people’s lowered rankings of TMWTGG’s score.

BTW, as you know LLL includes select snippets from each of their scores that last about 1 and a half minutes on average. I listened to the sample of “Let’s Go Get 'Em” and it fades out juuuusssst before the slide whistle kicks in. Whoever arranged that deserves a special commendation.

Not my favourite soundtrack, but this is the only place where I can brag about it… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Not only did I receive the wonderful new MR CDs this week, just a day later, I also got the last piece to my complete NTTD vinyl collection, the blue vinyl Dalida EP “Dans la ville endormie”.
Here they are: the gatefold double 12" LPs in black, gold and white vinyl, three single disc picture disc LPs (Bond/Safin, Nomi/Madeleine and the 007 Logo version), the double picture disc, four 7" single versions of the Song (picture disc, smoke vinyl, ice blue vinyl and the RSD release) and the Dalida 10" in black and in blue vinyl.

Mission accomplished :ballot_box_with_check:

@nsbulk
Stellar work on those remasters, no doubt, and congratulations. :cocktail:
I’ve been listening to MR for two days straight. :+1:

But there’s one thing that irks me: They’re only available at La-La Land (U.S.) or at the 007 store (UK). In both cases, I have to pay additional taxes, customs and handling fees that add up to roughly 17 Euros. Together with shipping, my MR copy cost me 75 Euros in total. Right now, I’m in the lucky situation that I can afford it, but I know it won’t stay that way. And I’m sure there are other people who have to think more than twice about making an order. It would be very much appreciated if in the future, there could be an affordable distributional solution for us EU collectors. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Only for 90 days. After that they can be sold by other retailers.

My copy has yet to arrive but what I’m finding revelatory from feedback/snippets is the extended content from certain cues. The ending of Funeral Barge/Venice Boat Chase in particular originally had an Italian style Bond Theme, before it was replaced with Tritsch-Tratsch-Polka. I’ve noticed Last Leg and Freefall Sequence’s expansion. I’ll go over the other cues with a fine tooth comb when I get the chance.

I just discovered that at the 007 store the MR cd is already sold out, not at La-la Land, not yet.

Yes! Finally received my Moonraker and TMWTGG cd’s from La-la Land. About time too! Can I ask if everyone who had them already for a bit of time had bought them all at the 007 Store and therefore received them faster, but they did ask a lot more for them, if I look at that properly.

Ok, now I have to find something else to whine about, because a complete MR score CD was surely the Holy Grail! Oh yes, of course: Where is the complete TSWLM score!! I want, no, I MUST have it! :stuck_out_tongue: :yum:

I ordered from LLL; mine was shipped on the advertised date (Dec 10) and I had it in hand six days later. I’m in Virginia, they’re in California, so it had to travel across the country, but not across the pond.

From what I’m seeing, there doesn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason to who got it when, so I guess I was just lucky. Look at this way, now you’re getting a second Christmas.

That’s true! :ok_hand:

Mine was send december 11, so it took a lot of time to get here, but I’m very, very happy right now.

I live in the UK & brought my MR & MWTGG from the 007;store on 29th Nov & received them on 13th & 16th Dec so a lot quicker delivery but more expensive but wanted these items before Xmas so your really paying extra for the privilege but at least no risk of import fees. But absolutely love both expanded scores MR is a revelation, just shows what John Barry wanted from the score it’s a shame Lewis Gilbert the director didn’t use this but at least the fans now get to enjoy the full score after 45 years.
Let’s hope we get more expanded scores in the near future, LLL Records are doing a fantastic job on these expansions & they need preserving. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

My copy of the expanded MR score arrived today, and my first listen through was akin to a religious experience. The clarity of the remaster induces goosebumps, breathing new life into this poignant masterpiece. Every single track has something going for it, and the unused content makes you sit up and take notice. By the time End Title - Moonraker (Extended Edition) rolls around you’re almost crying with how feel good nostalgic it all is. I can’t speak highly enough of what La La Land has done.

Question to you all ordered TMWTGG Lala-Land cd: Does your TMWTGG cd1 also look a bit strange at the back? It looks like there is some sort of layer of stripes on it. I’m thinking of purchasing another copy, just to see if it is there too, but actually it has to look new and perfect when you buy a new item. It plays well, but what will that be like in the future?

Mine looks and is fine.

I would contact LLL about it, but in the current LA tragedy it would probably unwise to do so immediately.

On my iTunes playlist I’ve added all the additional music such as Bugle Call, Morning After, etc into the sequence of the film. Of all the unused content, I think Launch Program Commence would be my choice for being reinstated. It gets the Flight into Space theme started earlier and with a different tone. Very much an optimistic vibe for Drax’s vision which is just about to be realised.
