Favourite James Bond soundtracks

I’ll include the beautifully atmospheric Dusk at Piz Gloria (unused) into the additional music section of my playlist. I’ll put Grand Christmas Eve Ball and Tracy To The Rescue into the film sequencing too, both after Escape From Piz Gloria. I suspect the film version of Escape lacks the suspense music that plays during the precipice fight, but it’s present on the 4.52 version. So I may keep that track placement there the same.

This group seems to get the intent of the albums, but I’ve found that there’s been some confusion about the releases. I posted this elsewhere and wanted to share it here in case you come across someone who doesn’t “get” these expanded albums.

But.. that speaks for itself, right? What do people say or think about this?

I can’t explain it, but I’ve seen enough misunderstandings that I felt something needed to be said.

It’s absurd that some may not get what these stellar new editions offer.

As Bond fans and score fans we can’t thank LLL enough.

I don’t get what’s not to get about those releases. Many Bond fans have been hoping and waiting for something like this for years, and I consider these albums to be among the most important releases of anything in the entire Bond universe.

Anyone who doesn’t get this has no clue of Bond and Bond music and soundtracks in general.

Simply ignore those idiots, there’ll be always ignorants and naysayers and bad pasty-skinned wifeless people sitting in their parent’s basement, who like to stir up the pot with the sole purpose to upset people and then sit back and watch chaos and mayhem unfold. In my 21 years as a mod on this forum, I daresay that I’ve seen it all. Not worth any second thoughts, not even first ones. And still, they get what they want: here we are at a totally different place, discussing those idiots and their doing…

Neil just wanted to say on behalf of the James Bond Music community what a fantastic effort you have put into each of these 10 expanded scores as not only a producer but as a James Bond Fan yourself, we are so grateful to even have 1 expanded score let alone 10 & hopefully more in the future. Please ignore the less than 1% that just like to moan or pick fault in anything, unfortunately it seems to be the easy thing to do these days on media platforms.
I was always told by my parents, if you have nothing good to say don’t say it. I’m 60 now so I appreciate every single expanded Bond score & I celebrate every time it happens as these scores need & deserve a proper archive as the films & especially the Music of this franchise are like folk lore now.Keep your chin up buddy, you are so amazing & appreciated :movie_camera::movie_camera::+1::smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

100% agree because music is the very soul of a film. As soon as new expanded soundtracks are announced I’m ordering them, because I know it’s been a long road to get here. I don’t take any of this for granted. I think it’s safe to say LaLaLand are responsible for generating the most excitement in the community over the past number of years.

Especially since these are scores which are many decades old, the original masters and tapes often thought to be gone.

To get them in such a pristine quality is absolutely astonishing.

I wholeheartedly concur with what has been said, most particularly from secretagentfan, jamesbond2021a, and sharpshooter, so I’ll just say, my heartfelt and very pleased and satisfied thank you to Neil and his colleagues at La-La Land Records. These remastered and expanded James Bond scores are most desired and absolutely wonderful. They are literally the best music to our ears.

If you’d like to hear (and see) me talk about the new “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” album and other James Bond films and soundtracks, I recorded this with the “To Live And Let Die In L.A.” guys the other day.

How very fitting: just received a note that my OHMSS CD’s order status has changed to “awaiting shipment” :+1:

Thanks for posting the video @nsbulk, I watched all of it. Film music is a fascinating subject and world all to itself.

It’s OHMSS heaven with this and the Blofeld Files book on the way.

Mine is “shipped”, so now I know I will get it in about 5 weeks, thanks to mainly the Dutch post.nl

But…but where the heck is everybody? All on holiday? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Mine too. The race is on :winking_face_with_tongue:

Looks like it. It’s the season :beach_with_umbrella:

Mine has been shipped too. The wait can start now at least. Australia Post always think I have all the time in the world.

Hopefully they haven’t become waxworks for morbid tourists.

I might have a little advantage here, as DHL is our main national provider and an international player at the same time. Makes things quicker.
And something I really love: I’m working from home this month, and my office here is a pretty good vantage point. On delivery day, I can do live tracking on the interweb and simultaneously look at three streets on their regular route before they come to my house (the actual difference is about 30-40 seconds). :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Sounds good. An international company brings the parcel into the country, but once it hits Australia it seems to sit in the depot for lengthy periods of time before making its way to an address. Which makes the wait all the more painful.
