Favourite James Bond soundtracks

I wrote this to explain the main differences between the “Film Version” and the original soundtrack version of the “Main Title” from “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.”

So, how is it going? Tracking says that mine left Frankfurt yesterday, so it should be here by tomorrow…

Glad to hear it. My copy has arrived in the country, so I’ll probably have another week of waiting left.

Thinking about what soundtracks I’d like to see in the near future, Thunderball, A View To A Kill and The Living Daylights are at the top of my list. I’d really like to have John Barry expanded as much as possible.

Guess so. I’m expecting several other items that would normally arrive today but are postponed to Monday…

Today I got the Goldfinger LP. It’s not perfect, a couple of wrinkels, but not torn open from above, like the one here shown a couple of weeks ago. So it will do.

I got mine yesterday and listened to it with my dad. It does sound great.

Once again, thank you lalaland. :+1:

Looking forward to whatever Bond score you expand on next.

Thanks for all these explanations. This is the kind of detail you do notice when you compare the film score and the released soundtracks.

I hope there is a remastered Thunderball on its way too, as I guess there would be a lot to say on this one as well.

Regarding OHMSS, there was also a french version of “Do you know how Christmas trees are grown”. Was’nt it available among the tapes you got access to?

I was hoping for that one and the German version, too, but when I first saw the track list, I knew it wouldn’t be. Could imagine that it might be a problem with the rights, or maybe with availability of master tapes. I’ve got several singles of the German version (one of them even signed by singer Katja Ebstein), but the French version is ultra rare, and when it’s for sale somewhere, they want way to much money.

If the songs are available and there’s no problem with rights, a RSD 7" release would be a great idea.

It was not, nor was the German version.

It’s finally here. :star_struck:
There were another few days of delay. It’s the holiday season, there’s a certain lack of manpower…

So a lot of you guys already received the OHMSS expanded double cd? So… how is it?

The inside of my CD player hasn’t seen anything else since I have it.
Is that enough?

I’ve received an alert my copy has been delivered. I’ll be listening when I get home, while looking through the booklet. Which I’m sure will look twice as lovely in the firelight.

As someone who has been listening to this music for years the LaLaLand release is absolutely fantastic. OHMSS has always been a step above in the soundtrack department and that’s even more apparent now. So good to have the film versions of these cues available and in such clarity. To make things even better my copy of the Blofeld Files arrived today.
