Favourite James Bond soundtracks

It is an amazing score, and perfectly suited to its film, which, for me, is the most important aspect.

Could it be that DAF is the Gesamtkunstwerk of the James Bond film canon?

It’s the essential link between the first and the second era.

Barry captures Vegas as good as Japan in my opinion. The Whyte House track especially does this. It sounds like it’s coming from a hotel show band. There’s a sense of theatricality and self awareness…a polished illusion.

Exactly. When i listened to the disc, I thought: “Wait, that was composed, and not just ‘found’ music?”

I got it already two days after ordering, and it is glorious.

This is the complete score, not the previously released record filled with jazz variations (as great as they were), and Quartet offers absolutely pristine sound which in this re-recording still mimicks the Barry recording style.

If anyone here enjoys scores, enjoys John Barry and one of his best compositions, you will have to get this one.

Always fun with the Royal Mail. Will never forget when I received a review copy of a book in a mail sack that was big enough for Tee-Hee to hide in it…

Received an e-mail today that my parcel from Royal Mail has now entered Germany. A bit confused because I didn’t receive a notification that anything was sent to me at all. Thought that this could only be the TMWTGG vinyl - but didn’t they say that those will start shipping June?

But when I clicked on the tracking link, I found out that it was a notification for the DAF remasters which I received over a month ago:face_with_spiral_eyes:

Here’s hoping that the postcard my niece sent me from Glencoe still might make it my way…
