I have to admit nothing excites me more than the retro soundtracks, but I’m a fan of both Newman scores. SPECTRE gets unfairly dismissed because of recurring motifs from Skyfall when there’s lovely original content in there. Barry reused his updated version of the Bond Theme from TMWTGG onwards and I didn’t have a problem with that. Newman created a mysterious spy ambience as good as anybody, eg. Vauxhall Bridge and Silver Wraith.

Those recurring motifs are my problem with the SPECTRE score and why I can’t put it in the upper half of the soundtracks even though it is enjoyable. But at least those recurring motifs are really good. However, I would prefer the score to have all original music including more original James Bond Theme music from Thomas Newman.

I live in the UK & received yesterday,Spectre remastered & Expanded CD, from 007 Store in the post ,ordered on 4th June 8.00am GMT UK , so probably quicker if you live in the UK to order from 007 Store & slightly cheaper & no import taxes.
This is not one of my favourite James Bond scores but to have this fully expanded is unbelievable & has made me appreciate this score more, the sound quality as always is amazing ,also to have all the tracks in Film chronological order is fantastic.

On June 12th I ordered the expanded SPECTRE soundtrack from La-La Land Records and Vaseem Khan’s Quantum Of Menace paperback from ianfleming.com on the same day. Yesterday, they BOTH arrived in the mail. A nice and welcome coincidence. I’ve already read the book in hardcover. Now, I look forward to hearing the score.

Listening to the LLL release of the complete SPECTRE score now…
The sound, once again, is pristine, and the complete tracks show how intricately Newman constructed every piece. The Bond theme is sublimely woven in again and again, and the whole score was severely truncated by the official first release.
Very satisfying, these LLL presentations.

Today I received the Spectre cd from Lala.
That is earlier than expected!
I think I now understand what kept happening in the past and why it always took so long.
I assumed that as soon as the package arrived in the Netherlands, PostNL would notify me as quickly as possible that it had arrived and that tax needed to be paid.
That turned out to be a bit naive.
This is what happened: along with the package, today I also received a postcard stating that tax had to be paid on the very same package; however, I had signed up with Post.nl a while back, and by chance, I checked the site last week and saw for myself that I needed to pay for the package from Lala, so I took care of it right then. Now—almost a week later—I’ve already received the package, yet I’m only just getting the notification that tax needs to be paid on that very same package (otherwise I will not receive it and it will be send back)—something that was actually settled a week ago. That’s just to show how “fast” they are.

I have to admit that this one is a release I am not realy enthusiastic about. This is my least favorite Bond score. I have already two cd’s from this score, one Japanese one with the original vinyl version on it and an expanded one. Both I only listened to once or twice when I bought them but I never felt the urge to do that again, so… I know this a luxury problem.

I actually like it, the way I like Serra‘s GE score - they are different.
But Legrand has that old school class I have a special fondness for, and the song is one of my favourites. It also has this atmosphere which tells the audience „it’s all gonna be fine and fun“.
