Forum Game: This or That?

A new Bond with two relatively quick movies in 2022 and 2024

If we did have new Bond movies in 2022 and 2024 which set of titles would you prefer:-

Risico and Property of a Lady

or

007 and No Time to Kill

???

The MGM albatross that has caused the delays for almost two decades now is likely to cause another…

But on with the topic

Risico and Property of a Lady

though that doesn’t seem likely

Should EON;

Invest their time into their non Bond projects until MGM solves its financial issues (or more likely collapses)

Or

Keep being the band aid that allows them to limp on

I’d say keep the Bond machine going.

NO TIME TO DIE (the actual title) or A REASON TO DIE (what it was going to be)? Which do you prefer?

No Time to Die.

Does the title foreshadow:
Bond surviving the film
OR
it has another meaning
?

Hopefully it has another meaning as well (and yes, Bond should certainly survive the film).

Which would you prefer:

Audiences love the new Bond film but you are a bit disappointed by it

OR

Audiences hate the new Bond film but you love it

Because people WILL tell you what they thought without any prompting, this seems the more bearable version.

Now we know the title

Theme with title

Or

Theme sans film title

Theme with title. No Time To Die seems ripe for a song.

Does the title more fit:
A loud, bombastic theme
OR
A subdued ballad
?

Bombastic theme

Preferred title for Bond 26 -

A Way to Kill

or

Ghost in the Machine

??

A Way to Kill. Ghost in the Machine sounds too much like an anime for Bond.

Predicting NTTD’s (I definitely started writing Bond 25 there ) rotten tomatoes score:
“>= 85” continuing the Craig era trend of great odd numbered films
OR
< 85 and being somewhere between good and mediocre
?

( I definitely can relate to you having a hard time getting used to NOT calling the film “Bond 25” anymore, Spectre…lol)

As for your choices, I’d say that NTTD will be “> = 85” and will continue the trend of Craig’s odd number films being great. I think that the choice of Cary Joji Fukunaga as director and Phoebe Waller Bridge contributing to the script will genuinely get folks excited about seeing the movie and I suspect that even some of the skeptics will be pleasantly surprised.

Dan Romer as composer for NTTD… Which previous-one-off composer’s score do you think it will come close to? George Martin’s LALD, Bill Conti’s FYEO, Eric Serra’s GE or Michael Kamen’s LTK?

Don’t know Dan Romer’s work, but considering I love George Martin’s Live And Let Die and Bill Conti’s For Your Eyes Only and I don’t like Eric Serra’s score for GoldenEye (it works better being heard by itself) that leaves Michael Kamen’s Licence To Kill effort, which I like but not love–so my answer is to go down the middle and say it will come closer to Kamen’s LTK.

Better main titles designer:

Maurice Binder

or

Daniel Kleinmann

?

Kleinman, but it was only later that Binder lost his knack for it.

White Dinner jacket, who wore it best

Because the answer is really Connery, I’ll instead leave it to the 2 Englishmen to juke it out;

Moore

Or

Craig

Moore wore it more naturally. On Craig it looks like it’s made of Kevlar.

Bond #7:

Another Dalton / Ctaig type
or
Another Moore / Brosnan type
?

Another Moore / Brosnan type. Let’s bring back the fun in 007.

Better Bond composer:

Marvin Hamlisch (The Spy Who Loved Me)

or

Bill Conti (For Your Eyes Only)

?

Hamlisch.

If we ever got a new Bond game:

a contemporary set game in the current timeline with the current actor
OR
a game version of Dalton’s unfilmed 3rd film
?

Dalton 3, because i’ve NEVER seen a Dalton performance that doesn’t end with a mic drop

Adele style for No Time to Die

Or

Chris Cornell style for No Time to Die

Definitely we need a Chris Cornell style for No Time To Die.

Which style of previous Daniel Klienman title sequence do you want No Time To Die’s be most like? GE, TND, TWINE, DAD, CR, SF or SPECTRE?

I think it will be like TND, but I’d like it to be like CR

Preferred style of song for the NTTD theme:-

Mark Kingswood’s " Strong" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRPjaDl1XNU

or

White Lies’ “Believe It” -

??

Did I kill the thread??

I had to do a quick listen to both tracks as I had never heard either. Both are very interesting but I would definitely lean more towards Mark Kingswood’s “Strong”. It’s definitely very Bond-esque! White Lies’ “Believe It” kind of gives me faint vibes of A-ha and " The Living Daylights". :sunglasses:

Which do you think we’ll get next? Our first official teaser posters of No Time To Die OR another videoblog with perhaps our first glimpse of Rami Malek’s character?
