Amazon Germany says tomorrow delivery so I am full of anticipation.

Mine is scheduled delivery on Monday. But I’m going to cancel it (or return, in case I’m to late). Because this morning, I got an e-mail by one of the authors in which he wrote that I’ll get a contributors copy as a thank you for making the contact to Charles Helfenstein.

Is that just the same book, or is a contributors copy slightly different?

No, it’s the same.

Amazon canceled the order due to lack of stock, and they said so on the day it was supposed to be delivered! Ugh!

I only ordered it half March so they realy couldn’t get one for me, time was too short! Grrrrr!

Ordered it now at their own site, wish I did this before, but in March it looked like it didn’t work.
118 euro incl. shipping is not cheap, but it looks like worth it.

Amazon. I told Steffen the story of my Amazon order, and he said that Amazon never got any copies from them. They automatically put any new release on their site without asking, complete with description and everything and see how far they get with it.

Wow! Realy? That is Amazonazing! Realy! You think you’re good with your order for five months and it turns out they didn’t even order it themselves to ship it.

They likely speculate on a bulk order discount (which is legitimate) - but then they ought to follow through if they offer the article. With small editions there’s every chance you won’t be able to order direct/from a different retailer when you’re left in the dark over months. Anybody with similar experiences - I did a while ago - ought to refer Amazon to their consumer protection authority or NGO consumer initiative.

At least the process is underway. You will get it now. I would’ve been kicking myself for eternity if I delayed ordering and the book eventually sold out. For what the Blofeld Files offers with these photographs and stories I think it’s the duty of an OHMSS aficionado to have this on their shelf if it’s economically possible.

It’s finally here. And it’s big and bold and beautiful and absolutely magnificent. More than 3 kilos of absolutely stunning material, a treasure trove of information. Spent the past three hours flicking through it. An instant essential, and any Bond fan in his right mind should really start thinking where else he can save 100 Euros in order to be able to afford this book (La-La Land releases are not an option, though :squinting_face_with_tongue:). It’s worth every Cent.

I just downloaded The Search for Bond to my Kindle. Thanks for the recommendation. And on top of that, the US digital version is currently only $1.49 to download on Amazon!

I bought the hardcover book Roger Moore collector’s edition from the James Bond 007 fan club. Yes, I know, it had all been released separately before, but it turned out to be a really great book about my favorite actor, Sir Roger! It was also a kind of test to see what the quality was like, and it’s excellent.

Yesterday, I ordered the book I really wanted: the hardcover version of the Goldfinger portfolio, which has finally been released as a book.

After buying the ridiculously priced Taschen books about Dr. No and Ken Adam over the past few years, I naturally had to live up to my reputation of buying a ridiculously expensive book about the Bond films every summer, and this is it!

All about AVTAK in the new MI6 Confidential issue nr 76:

AVTAK’s first half is as good as anything from his era and I like just about every scene from it. I enjoy Bond’s investigation of Zorin’s pumping system and the spa sequence, but I find the film loses its steam after that and doesn’t stick the landing. Good film overall though, and much more in line with my idea of a Roger film than FYEO.

Recieved an hour ago the Goldfinger Porfolio hardcover book.
It is a huge book (almost 400 pages) and full of beautiful pictures (it says: over 1,000 images from the 007 MAGAZINE ARCHIVE) and everything you can imagine and more about this classic Bondmovie. I think I will put it away and give it to myself for Sinterklaas, Christmas or my birthday (New Year’s Day), like the other huge book about O.H.M.S.S. which is still sealed. :face_savoring_food:
