Judy Geeson?

Time for another extremely obscure question about an early Bond film:

Judy Geeson is often listed on the cast of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, but I’ve never been able to spot her in the film. Can anyone help me??

Here is a photo of Judy:

And here’s one of Anouska Hempel, the only Angel of Death that seems to resemble her in any way:

Is it possible someone just got the two mixed up, once upon a time, and the error has just persisted? Or is she really in OHMSS somewhere??

If she’s not in the Piz Gloria crowd I’d take a look at the casino/hotel scenes, the Draco birthday/wedding on his hacienda or the arrival in the alps; scenes where she may only appear in a few frames. Another possibility - sadly hopeless - might be the chase at the College of Arms to the tube. Not sure how much of that was actually filmed but there’s little chance we ever get to see those parts.

Unless the Helfenstein bible on the film confirms otherwise, suspect it might be a dubbing job rather than an appearance. They used to be very fond of that. Just a guess, though.

Thanks Jim (& Dustin). I’ll take a closer look at the mentioned scenes.

I scanned Judy’s work history, and there’s not much evidence of voice work (besides, I think, a single voice credit for an animated film). It seems, more often than not, they were casting her for her face (at least, in part). Not sure whom she would’ve voiced in OHMSS, but possibly some of the Angels of Death.

Out of curiosity, what is this Helfenstein Bible you speak of?

Thanks again!!

I’m pretty sure Jim is referring to Charles Helfenstein’s book titled The Making Of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service which goes into pretty good detail about the making the sixth 007 film. It may not have your answer, but it is worth getting.

Sometimes it helps to take a look at the BTS photos. For example, Michael Caine’s wife was an extra in OHMSS, but we only know that because of BTS photos. She’s not credited, and you never see her face in the movie, she’s wearing a yellow dress and is among the bystanders in the casino scene, and there are photos of her in that dress on set.

Interesting! I do enjoy those obscure references, some requiring a fair bit of detective work.

Thanks for this! I was totally unaware of it until today, but I’ll make a point to track down a copy.

He also did one for Timothy Dalton’s debut as well called The Making of The Living Daylights.

And both are absolutely splendid works on their respective films, amongst my favourite reference books in almost 50 years of Bond fandom.
