Death Stranding is out next Friday on PS4. Ahead of the release, the launch trailer featuring Bond alumni Mads Mikkelsen and Lea Seydoux along with Norman Reedus, Lindsay Wagner, Margaret Qualley, Guillermo Del Toro and Nicolas Winding Refn premiered. Looks very interesting and definitely a few Bond vibes in there

Excited…ish

I’m not keen on the social aspect being pushed, but everything else is so good, I’ll wait and see.

It’ll definitely be interesting to see how it turns out - The social strand system (as its apparently called) is apparently avoidable to an extent (you choose whether to connect the various bits of America/who you want to connect with - which is what activates the social elements and alot of it thru side missions rather than the main story) so you can make it a harrowing solo journey or a game where the whole world helps you along

I didn’t know it was avoidable, that makes it more of a selling point for me. I (I know, depressingly) enjoy gaming more when it’s entirely a solitary activity.

I’m the same - the extent of the online stuff is people’s ropes and ladders/items populate in the world and footprints showing their paths once you connect a section of the world and i believe you can get items thrown at you to help you with bosses etc…- so if you avoid connecting areas to the network then you are able to play it pretty solo - though there may be different story implications for that
