Mission: Impossible 7 & 8 (2023/2024)

A movie that goes behind the scenes on the decision to change the title would be more interesting than the actual film.

Would that also apply to License Revoked?

I’m in. If they kill off Ethan Hunt, that’s a shame. Tom Cruise could do these movies for a long time. Hopefully, this one won’t bomb at the box office, or copy Bond too much again. That submarine sequence looks similar to TWINE. These last two MI movies prove that Hayley Atwell would have been a great Bond cast member.

All looks very jolly, although I thought that going into the last one, which was a bit porky.

I hate to say it but… my interest just isn’t there. It’s feels like they’re taking the same script and inserting different action scenes.

Not seeing it mentioned a lot of places but there’s a shot in there that I clocked immediately that implies a tie in to MI III and I’m here for it. Looks awesome.

As a completist I want to see it.

But nothing in this teaser made me excited.
Cruise is running again, and more than before, and the hanging on a doubledecker just isnā€˜t as exciting as hanging from a huge aircraft taking off.

And the title really is not inventive at all. They could have just used Dead Reckoning Part Two.

One of the few movies I’m anticipating next year. There isn’t a Mission: Impossible outing I’ve disliked and I expect this to be the same. I think it probably will be Tom’s last as he seems tied up with other projects now. Let’s go out with a bang.

Haven’t watched the trailer for it yet, but yet oddly don’t feel all that compelled to. The last film was so bad that it really killed all interest I had in the M:I films, and that’s coming from someone who adores Tom Cruise as a screen personality and has really enjoyed the franchise up to this point. They can repackage it all they want, but we all know that this is Dead Reckoning: Part 2, and that’s all I need to know to kill my interest in it.

I’m just happy that the story is going to conclude. After the poor performance of DR, I feared that the studio might have pulled the plug on part two.

Filming started about a year before DR was released, so we were always good.

On a side note, asking Siri ā€œwhen was Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning releasedā€ causes this to happen… :joy:
