I am thankful that Spielberg has always generally kept his eye on JP. It feels right with him calling certain creative shots. As for JPR I’ll still see it regardless of sequel overkill (and getting sick of Scarjo being advertised nonstop, no matter how big her role is in any movie), but this does feel like the old Arthur Morgan saying. Or to paraphrase Ian Malcolm: Greed will find a way.

Think he’ll get scared in this one?

Wouldn’t be surprised, given one of the scenes that’s depicted in the trailer.

Happy 32th anniversary to this timeless classic.

I’m still hoping for new villains. I still think the Penguin is overused in Batman media. He’s one of the few things Batman TAS got wrong.

Happy birthday to Michael Keaton.

I don’t have a problem with The Penguin appearing in every Reeves film. In an ideal world the rogues gallery should already be established and existing like the comics. We also had Riddler, Catwoman and Joker in the first movie and I don’t think it felt crowded. The focus remained on Batman. If you need an underworld perspective you check in on Oswald. If you want insight into murder go check in at Arkham and take your pick of the inmates. Give the next villain (I’m hoping for someone like Hugo Strange, Hush or the Court of Owls) Riddler’s focus and screen time and things should balance out just fine.

Many are speculating it’s the court of owls.

Slow burn horror - I love it.

Creaky floorboards work for me better than anything CGI/AI have to offer

And we haven’t had a western for some time, did we?

If anybody knows King‘s short story and Flanagan‘s work there is no way around having lots of joyous anticipation for this adaptation of „The Life of Chuck“, and this review is wonderful. (Variety panned the film in the most condescending way, revealing the reviewer to be totally wrong for this kind of film).

Let’s hope this movie will soon be released.

I can see your viewpoints. And I agree with them. But I think Matt Reeves and his team know that there are many other villains in Batman’s, something I don’t think many creative people realize about Superman. To think, Matt Reeves almost directed MOS. While I like MOS for what it is, I think Matt Reeves could have done with Superman what he did with Batman. I think a multiple villain approach like The Batman could REALLY help cinematic Superman out very much. He could easily use his physical and mental strength against his villains. Filmmakers just rarely mix the two together.

I was surprised how great his CREED III was. And he will deliver again with this.

But really, another remake of this story?

It’s bizarre what a huge influence the original has to this day, given how little substance there actually was. One of the most stylish films - with a plot you could fit on a postage stamp. Another remake of this will likely be a thankless task unless there’s some miracle casting and a fabulous, unforeseeable twist that makes people congregate in droves to watch it.

I remember even watching the Brosnan remake and being very entertained by it when it was releaed, and when I wanted to watch it again a few months ago I quickly became bored and turned it off.

Maybe I was wrong about Berger… This trailer really looks interesting.
