That’s what you love to see from a “co-producer” for the past of those two films (which, perhaps uncoincidently, are two of the most divisive in the series). He’s a much better brand ambassador for Omega, etc. than Bond.
More often than not, I find myself being on the side of the “too many” comment. It’s good to see Craig agrees. I just wish he had enough integrity to walk away when he wanted rather than staying on to guzzle from the Eon well. Perhaps production houses are really that uninterested in his Othello project (I wouldn’t blame them) that that’s he reason he stuck around; Barbara was dangling it like a carrot.
I strongly suspect that’s not going to be the last time they recreate Brando - that stuff is soon going to happen every other week, with practically all the stars of yesteryear.
I still hope that Daisy Ridley joins the Bond franchise. She could work in more roles than one. It’s also nice to see Martin Campbell keep working at his age. He and Clint Eastwood (among others) prove that age is just a number.
Great choice! I did say among others, in my defense. I’d like to add Martin Scorsese to that list as well. I think what Quentin Tarantino said about bad old directors is just him being paranoid. He’ll be a good old novel writer though. Age is just a number as I said before.
Will Disney and Lucasfilm cancel this too? If they made every project they’ve announced, there would be as many Star Wars movies as there are James Bond movies.
Is Patty Jenkins and Rogue Squadron about to become the Star Wars equivalent of Tim Burton and Superman Lives?
At this point I guess the problem is that, of course, they develop a lot of different options - but why do they announce them all, knowing they will only choose one - if that?
Ironically, Anne Hathaway was supposed to be in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 4, apparently. As Black Cat, confirmed by Raimi himself. It’ll be interesting where this goes, as Nolan generally has a good ensemble cast.
