Movies: Presumably 2024, maybe Beyond

For any curious to hear them. The Riddler’s theme was not what I expected.

First look at Cillian Murphy as Oppenheimer as well as the addition of Kenneth Branagh doing his third Nolan movie in a row.

Looking at pictures of the man, I can see why Cillian Murphy was cast before they’d sold the pitch.

Turns out telling shareholders was more important than telling the films cast.

HA-HA-HA-HA!

Well, they can still shrug off the shareholders´ irritation when the deals won’t get made.

But agents for Pine & Co now might rub their hands and come in with nice demands.

By the way: you called it!

Chris Pine’s agent when that was said;

“Ah…today is going to be a good day!” As he puts his feet on the desk and lights a cigar with a $100 bill

Thank you Arbogast. Bought my ticket for Thursday evening–my birthday present to myself (also an open caption screening so I don’t miss the dialogue).

The Batman comes out on my Birthday but I’m seeing it a day early on March 2.

Uhura seems on board.

FYI - I’ve noticed that Jeffrey Wright, in interviews for The Batman, has been sporting the NTTD Omega, as has Simon Waterson when he was promoting his book. Bond movies have their perks!

The money must be huge. And for Chris Pine even more so. Well done, agents. And Paramount… not so much.

Or did they have an option built in the contracts which was about to expire?

In any event, I love that crew. And I want to see another Trek movie with them.

Not that this would be a priority in this weird world getting weirder every day.

Normal is 3 with first refusal on 4 - the gap between 3 and 4 is the closest an actor had to power…unless a studio does, well, THAT

Then the actors agents have the power of god.

If I remember correctly they tried to make Star Trek 4 a few years ago but it fell apart because they couldn’t reach an agreement with Chris Pine.

Pine and Hemsworth. It was going to find an excuse to bring the dad back following the actor becoming an a-lister because of a certain role

I’m glad the idea to bring back Hemsworth fell through. The idea of the two Kirks never excited me (it seemed a cynical excuse to cash in on Hemsworth) and I love Star Trek but am completely uninterested in any more time travel/alternate reality (mirror universe especially) stories… Voyage Home, Generations, First Contact, Star Trek '09, countless episodes with time travel and the mirror universe, Discovery,

and from the trailers, Picard season 2 (which is why I’m not particularly looking forward to it, but am still hopeful).

I know it’s somewhat of a staple of Star Trek, and there have been some great time travel/alternative reality stories, but it feels a very ‘safe’ and uninspired option (hello, Into Darkness Khan!).
I’d be very happy to see the Kelvinverse crew again though!
