Movies: Presumably 2025, maybe Beyond

Somewhat on the fence about the casting, but I’m more interested to see how they’ll adapt the property for the screen. There’s a lot of source material for them to pick from and a lot of it would be, I’d think, somewhat tricky to adapt.

Not that Twitter is reliable - but it’s always fun to hear a movie is great:

I seem to recall Batman V Superman and Justice League having ‘positive’ early reactions too. The first Wonder Woman however was supposedly a ‘discombobulated mess’ before coming out and actually being pretty good.
That said I am optimistic for Wonder Woman; the main creative team is back and the trailers look great. Now how do you watch it in the UK?

It seems that HBO max will be available in Europe next year.

Vulture, Mysterio, Electro, Doc Ock, Scorpion and Shocker are all now present

A multiverse Sinister Six?

The more villains the less impactful everything is. Will this be another case of “Spider-Man 3”?

It depends how they’re used.

Spider-Man Homecoming had The Vulture, 2 shockers, the tinkerer, the prowler, scorpion and the future hobgoblin but used them better than The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3 did with their respective 3

My favourite Spider-man movie (by far) still is Raimi´s sequel.

It’s looking like the top 3 credits in that film are in this, so that’s something and it looks like it’s tying in to the Raimi directed Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness so I’m thinking Kevin Feige also has a fondness for it.

Good morning, my neighbors!

Liman is a good director for the most part and with Stephen Knight scripting, not to mention that it has an incredible cast, I’m quite excited about this!

I don’t think I want to see a film taking place during this pandemic.

Impressive logistics, though. And one can clearly see how distances were enforced during filming.

Actually, I’m impressed that a film tackled a story during the pandemic. It looks plausible yet fun!

And more depressing news.

From what I’ve heard about Ghostbusters, they could probably turn a pretty good profit on it by going the streaming route. Word is that the budget is not large at all, so I could see them doing quite well by going the route that WB is going with the theatrical release coming on the same day as the HBO Max debut.

Still, incredibly depressing news.

On the other hand, if things are closer to normal come October, my wallet is going to take a beating. Bond, Ghostbusters, and Halloween all within about three weeks of each other.

Hopefully, this will hold you over 'til then…

Looks better than the theatrical cut, for sure. Never been a huge fan of Snyder’s, outside of his remake of Dawn of the Dead, but I must say that I’m looking forward to this gulp 4-hour behemoth of a film. Hopefully this revives the DCEU in some form, as I find myself wanting to return to Affleck’s Batman rather than looking forward to whatever Matt Reeves is going to do with it.

Well, it’s a film. With people. And music, obviously. And the entire century’s supply of pathos.

Since I didn’t make it through the theatrical version I very much doubt I’ll discover the treasures of the four hour 4XL biblical approach - though from a cineast’s point of view the differences will no doubt be interesting.

As for Batman or the DC characters…by now I’m looking forward to Pattinson. The rest of the characters just didn’t grasp me, not even Wonder Woman. I think I’m just no longer the target audience for such flicks.

I had a love/hate relationship with Snyder’s DC films. But what Whedon butchered out of this film was so terrible I just have to check this version out.

Also, it has Superman, my all time favorite comic book hero. And Cavill was great in that role.

So who made this film? Not sure the trailer made it clear…
