Movies: Presumably 2026, maybe Beyond

Hard not to feel elated when you see Mel Brooks with that twinkle still in his eye. What a legend.

I bet millions of kids are looking on their screens and say “Yesss, I was so hoping for this!”

I think I’ll wait for the inevitable reboot of this reboot of the reboot. By 2050 they should be able to figure out how to make a decent Miami Vice or decide to stop.

Calling it „Miami Vice ´85“ and stating it will be a period picture is what raises my interest.

Maybe some stories work better that way.

Campbell teaming again with Eva Green - man, this guy does not stop. How does he do that at his age?

Clint directed his 40th film at age 94, and Manoel de Oliveira made a feature film at 104.

I’m unfamiliar with the 104 year old (wow though) but what I can’t believe is how someone with Campbell’s intensity can keep doing it at that age. Watching him direct is almost as exciting as watching his films.

And at 9 pm I have crashed on my couch thinking I should go to bed. It will be my 57th birthday in three months.

Oh, thanks for the reminder. Mine will be in two and a half months…

I’m now the same age as Roger Moore when he officially gave Cubby his resignation from the secret service.

Chapter 59 begins in late November.

I still do all my own stunts though.

No…Really.

“But its still in pretty good shape.”

Ha! Anyone (and I mean anyone) knows that you don’t do the running stuff any more. The only times I’ve seen you running was from yet another surprise from one of Jim’s parcels, and that was off camera (be glad it was). But those don’t count. They even make me run, and that means something…

Actually, my running is still pretty solid. I still do two miles on the beach every week.

No, really.

I may slow to a trot depending on any bikini clad others I may come across - A man must maintain some standards and I also still do some TKD (Tae Kwon Do) sparring.

I didn’t spend two years earning my 1st degree black belt to give it up. Yes though, there is much more preparation required with stretches and pattern practice, but, well..

“It’s still in pretty good shape.”

Goes to show: audiences respond to what makes them feel good. If that can be achieved, bad reviews don‘t matter.

Also: a polarizing subject might not be that polarizing, the loudest only get the most press coverage, and Schadenfreude is not a guarantee for the truth (all the naysayers on the net predicting last week that this film would be a gigantic flop should now ask themselves whether their influence with their followers is worth anything).

I’m happy, I enjoy (and still own) the crossover graphic novel (along with the original Django Unchained graphic novel). It’s a shame it sounds like Antonio Banderas won’t be back as Zorro. Considering he’s still directing, could Martin Campbell come back to direct. Or Steven Spielberg to produce (probably with QT)? I just hope that they are faithful to the graphic novel, as Django does deserve another adventure!

Looks good, certainly miles better than any of the previous Resident Evil films. Curious to see how it will tie in with the lore of the games, which it is said to do to some degree, because there’s not a hint of it here.

I liked „Weapons“, Cregger is a talent, and this one might work very well.

But I couldn’t be more bored with zombie films - or mafia pics. No, even a mashup of both would not make me buy a ticket.

80? For a Star Wars movie? From a popular tv show? And the biggest Star Wars „flop“ started with „only“ 103 million and was soon declared to have ruined the stand alone Star Wars plans…

Gee, I hope they haven’t manufactured too many Grogu puppets.
