By the way - it was confirmed in THR that MANIAC will not have a second season and always was planned to be only one.
Garbage’s effort is very underrated, and it achieves what many themes fail to - do justice to the fact that they’re a “Bond” song but still clearly recognisable as being “of” that artist. And Arnold uses the melody effectively throughout the film (which he repeated to equal effect in CR) - in a manner worthy of Barry himself, I would proffer!!!
Frankly, since roughly Goldeneye (and perhaps with the exception of You Know My Name and maybe Skyfall) I found not a single Bond theme half as memorable as almost every entry in Goldfrapp’s debut album. I guess I’ve simply grown out of the target audience for these…
If Goldfrapp did Bond 25 i’d be a happy man.
Also on my list would be Fever Ray (people might know them from the haunting theme of the tv show Vikings (who’s ex lead btw, Travis Fimmel, should test for Bond and If not Bond, as a villain instead).
I wonder if the director might request Patrick Somerville (Maniac’s screenwriter and show runner) to polish the P&W script keeping him from developing a second season?
It’s ending is what precludes a second season. If Fukunaga wants rewrites he’ll probably do them himself.
Yes, I’ve already watched the limited series.
Ah good, I’m trying to be carful what I say for those who havn’t. Think the whole series plays better when you know as little as possible going in.
I’m on ep 3 and after reading that I’m now assuming they die
That’s rather taken the wind out of my sails with this engrossing series.
BTW, that’s rhetorical; pls refrain from spoilarish posts without warnings and hidden text. Thanks.
And, as it was to be expected, another tentpole moves into February 2020 - one week ahead of Bond:
I saw this too, though given DC’s track record, the odds of this moving are high.
Just returned from quite a Bondian holiday in Fiji (felt like Thunderball), and just caught up with everyone’s comments on the latest news.
Excited about the new director and release date. In Australia, it will be about 3 weeks later, so probably early March 2020.
How is everyone??
Crowding out those weeks with movies bound to disappoint must be good news for Bond?
Margot is great (would be an excellent Bunt), But as much as I admire Leto as an actor his joker was a failure and he’ll be milking it further in the Harely Quinn movie (odd since Joaquin Phoenix has his own joker movie on the way too).
It’s all a big mess that I doubt will stop anyone seeing Bond 25.
On behalf of the northern hemisphere, very jealous that you’re heading into summer…
Up here, winter is coming…oh no, wait, it’s hear already! If they want to keep bond relevant we need a villain who’s plan is to get rid of autumn ![]()
It looks like you had a good northern hemisphere summer though?
So are we getting a Russian or Middle East based bad guy?
Welcome back. We were running the gamut from information-starved to hysterical and vengeful (after Boylegate) to totally taken by surprise and now excited by Fukanaga´s announcement.
Let´s hope BOND 25 is on track for a March shooting date with a terrific story, joyful casting announcements and an enlightening title reveal in the next six months!
Sounds like a great trip. I’m off to Hawaii in December and January, so a similar holiday is in my future.
Not even remotely worried about this. The DCEU is dead in the water and are we even sure this thing is gonna get filmed?
Odds are against…
Am I correct in assuming too, that they’ve rebranded the DCEU?
