News on NO TIME TO DIE (no spoilers)

I saw Garbage live @ University of Delaware Bob Carpenter Ctr. Before TWINE was released. IMO 2nd best theme in series(After Goldfinger)

Damn I miss the "70’s.

So this composer change is happening for sure then ?

No, theres no confirmation either way - just rumours

The admins of the other place believe it’s Zimmer and not Balfe…

I absolutely adore that you refer it to as ā€œ the other placeā€. :joy:

I only ever do that because other people on here seem to

Never miss an opportunity to make a Twilight Zone reference.

Is it how rod sterling referred to The Outer Limits?

So ā€˜the other place’ is saying it’s Zimmer and JBR is saying it’s a factory minion… If true I guess Zimmers too busy, but by giving his factory the gig he’s made a hollow promise to ā€˜oversee’ it.

Desperate times.

Maybe they had a great time working with Steve Mazarro on THE RHYTHM SECTION and invited him back.

Zimmer is known for collaborating with other guys in his factory anyway, so not even Nolan gets full Zimmer.

Call for desperate housewives? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

…if they’re hoping to attract Nolan for Bond 7, having only Nolan and his immediate family (Emma Thomas and Jonathan Nolan) be first timers (in regards to his normal go-to) on the series, might be an attractive proposition.

Maybe it’s like Blade Runner 2049, with Zimmer and one of his underlings like Wallfisch on the cover, with the latter taking the lead on actually doing the score (and getting credit above Zimmer in the final film) and Zimmer producing/overseeing/helping with the themes.

Wallfisch is one of Zimmerā€˜s most gifted protĆ©gĆ©es. Wouldn’t mind him doing the score.

Tbh i had no idea that Zimmer hadn’t led the BR 2049 score (which i thought was magnificent, if not as good as Vangelis - the highest of benchmarks).

I’d be happy for whomever led BR’49 to do NTTD.

If true…I mean…what were they expecting? He has a really interesting sound that I personally would not have thought of as an obvious fit for Bond. Oh well, hopefully he’s okay and they’ve found a suitable replacement.

Well…this is a ā€˜troubled production’ after all. The ride’s not over yet.

But I think it’ll all work out in the end.

Yeah I’m pretty confident whatever issues have come up won’t be noticeable in the final product. The score was the last piece I was feeling a little iffy about. Romer is great but his style of sound was not what I wanted from the grand finale. At this point I’m honestly hoping for a fairly liberal dose of the Bond theme. We really haven’t gotten that yet and Daniel’s Bond has earned it.

Without hearing Romer’s score, in theory I say this: If the Bond team aren’t feeling something I’d rather they say so early on and make the change, rather than stick with something they don’t like/isn’t working just because. It seems like that has happened. They’ve got plenty of time to work this out. I’d also rather the complete vision of a composer be realised on screen rather than a watered down compromise.
