News on NO TIME TO DIE (no spoilers)

Sorry for triple post but…
“No Time To Die opens wide April 10, with early access IMAX screenings starting the morning of April 9.”

Gobi-1 did it better (see Bond fan art post.)

Yeah, as a poster it again is not really using creativity or art.

The shot of Bond with sewn on bike-face isn’t really doing anyone any favours.

Nice backdrop but for that we can thank Matera.

My main problem is that while it doesn’t look too bad in the small version, the hi-res versions show the poor image quality. Happens when you don’t use pictures that were done by the set photographer with a proper photo camera, but screenshots instead.

It’s better than Skyfall’s poster, but once again nowhere near as good as the hand-drawn artwork of the pre-'90s. Shoot, it’s not even as good as the '90s photo posters. And I agree with Stromberg about the photo’s graininess. How hard can it be to get a decent, much less good, poster? Still (foolishly optimistic) holding out hope for the main poster, but I’m not holding my breath.

Yup - really not impressed.

Elsewhere on this forum, the poster is collated on the IMPAwards website together with all the other posters for the film.

There are 15! Of which, that we know, only one has been printed as a poster, and three have been committed to vinyl banner in the UK. It is possible the IMAX one will be printed too.

In this digital age, and bearing in mind paper posters will be redundant, should they not be called something else? By definition a poster is printed and displayed. These are just images, in need of a name…

Looks like they drafted the Brossa tsunami surfing geniuses for this poster.

The art of foreshortening is apparently dead. That’s either supposed to be a fisheye lens effect, or Q’s given bond a bike with a huge front wheel and Safin’s diabolically shrunken Craig’s head in a previous scene.

Hoping it’s not a true representation of the effort/talent behind the movie :grimacing:

I’m going risk ire and say it’s only the initial teaser poster I don’t like…

I would agree on that. And I still genuinely dislike that teaser poster.

I’ve seen that teaser so much over the preceding months that it’s synonymous with the film. I’m happy for the black and white poster to replace it in my mind, because I genuinely like that one.

I rank the Bond centric posters accordingly:

  1. Bond and Madeleine
  2. IMAX
  3. Bond wearing the sweater
  4. Teaser poster

That’s really cool. I love the use of bullet holes, reminds me of OHMSS.

Showtimes are being populated at AMC in the US ahead of ticket release probably on Monday like the UK. Dolby Cinema screenings also happening, like IMAX, from the morning of Thursday April 9. First regular screenings begin 7pm on the 9th.

EDIT: Craig era marathons happening at select AMCs on the 8th https://www.amctheatres.com/movies/no-time-to-die-marathon-64147 And seems like no 70mm IMAX prints in the US as the Metreon San Francisco, Citywalk LA and Lincoln Square NY venues are marked to show this in laser.

EDIT 2: Marathons also happening at Regal https://www.regmovies.com/movies/no-time-to-die-marathon/ho00010568#/
