It would have taken a massive financial hit if they had stuck to the April date. It’s absolutely the right move. Still hurts like hell though. I’m curious to see what happens now during Daniel’s late night visits this week. Hopefully he still brings some footage with him.
Well that’s shite.
Well on the bright side: the film is finished. So it’s coming for sure…
Well shit…
Of course, if this coronavirus is still around by November…
BBC is reporting it as well.
This is what I was wondering. If it becomes an endemic virus, then the onset of winter could see a resurgence. In a sense, it’s the future of the virus that interests me more than the present.
Just circles back to my previous thoughts, that until I’m sitting in the theater with No Time To Die playing on the screen in front of me and blasting in my ears, I’m not convinced this movie is ever coming out.
Nobody actually wanted this but I’m afraid it was inevitable under the conditions. Now let’s all hope the current crisis can be defused with the least damage and that November will find us all well and the world in a better shape.
yeah, i believe the “dominos” that Deadline refer to means we will see Mulan, Black Widow and several more films delayed significantly
It was the right thing to do and applaud Eon for doing so. Not because they’ve saved profits, but because they’ve no doubt saved lives.
How many people would’ve braved it around the globe. Not as many as would’ve been, but still probably in the 10s of thousands. If just one of them has the virus, sits among people for 3 and half hours, coughs and passes it on to another. That person returns home and passes it to their family etc…
I hope this was the primary reason for delaying, rather than profits. The governments of the world should follow suit. With around 100,000 possibly infected the Italian government are only now considering shutting the schools. Ridiculous!
Annnnnnnnd…Now I have to go to China and kill the virus.
Fu Yuck
The only other release, per IMDB, for November 25 in North America is Raya and the Last Dragon.
You know, this will make the April posters collectors items down the line.
I don’t know why it didn’t click with me until now but Nov 25th is the day before Thanksgiving here in the States. I honestly don’t think I’m even going to be able to go until 4-5 days after it comes out based on traveling and holiday plans.
AND those of us in the States will now have a 2 week gap from the time the U.K. sees it until we do instead of 1 week.
Yay.
You have your orders 003…
Only now do I feel some validity to the “cursed” notion.
So what happens with the ticket I booked for NTTD? I wonder if Odeon give refunds?
Cineworld are currently refunding people who purchased tickets. I would imagine others will do the same.
Yup. Got my refund from Vue.
