I still just find it insane that the calendar cover would make a far better poster than the actual posters.
Shame that it wonât become the official poster. Canât happen, because the watch isnât on it.
The problem is that all the technology available can act as a limit on creativity. From brain to hand to paper was a less mediated process than the one which dominates today.
In fairness it was and still is the official poster for Asia/Pacific territories.
Iâd actually offer that the last great poster/poster campaign was TLD, all those years ago.
I do concede the fact that the Brosnan posters werenât great (still better than almost all of Craigâs), but the Casino Royale posters were excellent. And despite really disliking Empireâs designs, I do love the Spectre teaser poster.
Youâre right, the Brozza posters werenât awful, just underwhelming - a real missed opportunity by whoever makes these decisions. After the success of GE I was hoping for poster campaigns harkening back to the work done in the 60s and 70s. With the exception of QoS (the teaser and main poster I like a lot) the rest have been almost rote in their exception.
âŚinception?
Not that Mrs Malaprop would complainâŚ
Iâm a plonker! I meant to say ârote in their execution.â
Plonker no more!
Ahhh. That makes sense.
Absolutely correct.
Thanks. I thought it was official but couldnât remember what Iâd seen it on merchandise wise or figure out why it didnât seem to resurface. I also wish that was our actual poster; maybe they can use it for the DVD / blu-ray.
I had my eyes on the Hot Wheels Aston Martin DB5 1:18 Elite for quite some time. With the excitement of Trailer 2, and the November release date looking very real, I decided to finally buy one. Should be arriving around early October.
Well, that was why I mentioned that perhaps they could / will still use it as the main poster come November.
As a design, it is done, but not poster-ised. Letâs see.
The less than accurate MI6 HQ are citing this as a UK Quad poster.
It isnât. One can see the PG-13 rating in the bottom corner so it might be a subway poster. Also, the Universal logo is not present. A requirement for UK distribution identification.

This isnât to say the design may not later be used in the UK, but if the current Aston posters are our teasers, this example would represent a step back from the credits-laden Aston poster.
Itâs a curious sequence of poses, is it not? Still, the WRISTWATCH is there, which is what counts.
Yeah, the right image looks like the poor chap is stumbling, the middle one has him patting his pockets for his keys - certainly his expression shows frustration, and the left image looks someone just said to him, Boo!
Itâs pretty poor all around. The pose is awful, the background is bland. Empireâs designs reek of corporate BS. Though, itâs still better than the absolutely abysmal cover and pose for 007 Legends.
Itâs the US quad poster. It has the UAR logo on it, and not Universal Pics.
There isnât any such thing as a âUS Quadâ poster.
The quad is signified by olde worlde UK dimensions, 40x30 inches.
The US measurements are in Sheets and multiples of. 27x41 inches.
