NO TIME TO DIE Spoilers (production pictures & videos)

The thing is, at film 25, no “ending” anyone could come up with will seem completely final as, at this point, there is nothing you could to him that Bond hasn’t shaken off and returned from, at some stage, in his approaching 70 year history. James Bond will return isn’t a promise at this stage, it’s just a fact.

I’m open to that, but at the same time would like something else. SPECTRE already had him riding off into the sunset. I do believe the rumours that Bond was originally going to die, so I think amnesia or a FRWL cliffhanger would be neat substitutions. Bond going through the ringer right until the end.

The dawn, technically.

I feel wretched. Sorry.

Coming back into the fold in some way, would suit me.

Memory loss actually would be nicely corresponding with Blofeld´s torture in SPECTRE which was supposed to make Bond not remember Madeleine anymore. That failed.

But when Bond now really loses his memory at the ending of the film, it could be Madeleine´s decision to leave him alone forever - also because she knows that Bond works best as an agent when he does not have any personal attachments. Bond can then go back into the service, ending his missions with a woman he afterwards quickly forgets - business as usual.

My ancient posts on other sites always wanted the Pearson biography adapted. Craig would be excellent choice, and have a younger Bond acting in the flashbacks. In a perfect world Sir Sean does voice overs.

Figuratively speaking Jim, figuratively speaking…

Yeah, I’m leaning that way. Nice symmetry.

I would personally like Craig to have an ending like the classic ends to Bond tenures, film finishes with a kiss or a bit of banter END…
James Bond Will Return ( probably not looking like this one but well you all should know the drill by now)
If it is his last one I refer back to MrWindtKidds’ far more erudite writings on DAF, ConneryBond sailing perpetually on that big ship , whenever Craig’s tenure ends I would like to think of him in the same way

My vote would also be for a memory loss ending.

After the chaos and bombast of the climax, we find Bond in peaceful and exotic surroundings, with calm ambient sound, soft strings on the score, and with Madeleine watching over him. She recognises his memory loss and promises to help him heal (oh the metaphor!); while we, the audience, observe her happiness at the opportunity to live the clandestine life she’s always wanted, with the man she loves - and both of them out of ‘the game’ for good.

Like a reverse Bourne Supremacy…

Agreed. Amnesia humanises Bond in a melancholic way and also serves to reset his era.

So the general feeling is this is, at heart, a YOLT adaptation? Certainly can believe it. P&W have mentioned a few times wanting to use things from the later Fleming books, and as endings go, it can work either way of giving Craig’s Bond an ending but not necessitating a hard reboot in Bond 26.

If Blofeld bites the dust and Bond loses his memory, the components are there. But I’m sure NTTD will have its own identity, just as Skyfall used the obituary and missing in action material for the pre title sequence.

Yeah the YOLT memory loss ending would be ideal but I think they should really go for something that’s an actual ‘end’ - even if it is killing off Bond. This is no different than Nolan having his ending for his Batman trilogy and then Zack Snyder introducing Ben Affleck’s new/‘rebooted’ Batman 4 years later.

With the Craig era’s closed-off continuity, and assuming they won’t attempt it again and go back to the older ‘never ending story’ model, this is their only shot at doing something like this with Bond.

My dream casting for the Pearson biography has always been Daniel Day-Lewis. Being a one off and if they got a director like Frears or (dream big) PT Anderson I think Lewis might just be up for it.

But that’s not to deem Craig a lessor choice. He’s been an amazing bond and would be magnificent in a Pearson adaptation.

We all know how the movie is going to end.

With the gunbarrel haha.

I think the title reveal clip was when they shot the sequence.

Except Nolan didn’t kill Batman, he gave him a happy ending. He probably avoided killing him off for the simple reason that ludicrous methods of escaping death was something you’d been watching the character do for hours. In that genre, death is never as final as it is in reality.

Just a simple, old fashioned, “James?!.. Oh James!!!” would make me very happy!

As I’ve said ad infinitum to all and sundries’ chagrin, the best thing about Craig going out on memory loss/heading off to Russia under the memory-fog misapprehension that he’s a SMERSH agent… is that bond 7 gets the perfect intro:

Action packed shocker of an introduction to Bond 7, as the first thing he does is try to kill M. Then we get to know him and he gets to know Bond, as Maloney undose the SMERSH brainwashing with lessons in Who’s James Bond!

Depending on who they cast that might cut a little too close to the bone - but it might promise huge potential for a persiflage.

The title sequence of Bond 26 just designed itself.
