Technically, that’s a scientist.
And that giant octopus is still unused from Fleming…
That would be crazy and awesome if it were in No Time To Die. Even if Safin isn’t Dr. No, he does seem to be influenced by him and if that is the case, I’d love for the whole obstacle course sequence to be included, and yes, that includes the giant squid.
If you’ve seen CJFs excellent Netflix series Manic, with it’s joy of the strange and surreal, then you won’t be at all surprised to see giant octopus in NTTD.
It could be the manifestation of the SPECTRE octopus - it’s not merely a metaphor.
Bond’s fight with the beast would be the perfect climax of his story arc - that of SPECTRE/Blofeld’s manipulation of him since the start
Brilliant insight - that would work very well indeed.
And a new image from Total Film!
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EL_MwYwW4AIoLLG?format=jpg&name=largeDN is my favourite book, and yet…the Bond v squid-thingy moment has always seemed so inherently 1957 to me. That’s just me though. Could the film pull it off? Why not! And if it doesn’t,well, it will give the chance for some hack reviewer to claim that the series has finally “jumped the squid”. Thingy…
And then they’d think they were so clever when they fill out their article with five more paragraphs regurgitating all of the production issues there have been.
Chinese version of the Q Teaser Trailer.

I’m guessing everyone has seen the Empire cover. Did anyone else notice in the press release that came along with it that New York was mentioned as a location? What’s up with that?
The way it’s worded is they went to London, Jamaica, and New York to follow the story of Bond 25. I read that not as it being a location, but more part of the behind the scenes making of the film, etc…
probably unprecedented access to Daniel Craig’s surgery
and maybe an interview with Rami Malek
Someone has posted part of the Empire article elsewhere, and there is a little bit more information about what Bond is up to in Cuba. As suspected, he and Paloma have gatecrashed a gathering of Spectre operatives. But while there, Blofeld is somehow addressing the room over the speakers - despite him being in prison in the UK. That appears to be why Bond needs to go visit him in jail.
Can’t wait to read the articles and see the additional photos. This is always an exciting time leading up to the release of the film.
Other additional stuff from the Empire feature
- Craig had a secret idea about how his run would conclude, saying that while he was satisfied with Spectre it wasn’t where he wanted to end things.
- per Craig, a lot of the movie is about the Bond/Madeleine relationship which he describes as ‘f----ing complicated’, Fukunaga also sounding very keen to delve into her backstory and connection to SPECTRE/Quantum etc. And Barbara: ‘Bond finds out relationships are hard, who knew?’
- Matera stuff takes place almost immediately after Spectre, then time jump to Jamaica after Bond leaves Madeleine behind
- per Fukunaga, Safin wants to ‘rule the underworld’, aka SPECTRE…believing it’s his rightful place.
- And overall, a ton of allusions to this really being an actual finale story for Craig’s Bond - in any case, it’s definitely his final film.
That’s a cool way to allude to the Blofelds of the past - using a sound system to address people (OHMSS) and being just a voice (FRWL, TB). Are these old recordings of Blofeld recorded before he was arrested (SPECTRE members taking inspiration from him like a cult leader) or has the guy found a way to remain in charge from prison? Interesting…
