It is tedious. Those yellow press guys just love to put something down.
I donāt know if anyone paid attention, but I posted VERY early in the process that I planned on staying spoiler-free (for the first time) this go around. But then all the negative junk started hitting the airwaves, and the only way to understand the truth was to stay connected. It ruined everything. Oh wellā¦
This is currently - currently??? - the major problem with the British press. For the most part they have given up on ātendencyā and now provide largely the headlines that have already been decided prior to actual reporting.
With BOND 25 - no, with NO TIME TO DIE - they have early on decided to hunt the production down, primarily because it seemed like a safe bet. And regardless how it finally turns out. Naturally, they hope they will not have to order humble pie. But even if, until itās time to do so they intend to keep their stories peppered with the āhaunted productionā trope.
QOS had it too.

What did they say about QoS ?
Having gone back and watched the video a few times, Iām curious if the sudden jerk the stunt man takes immediately after clearing the bridge is designed to look like the deployment of a parachute? Anybody else notice this?
I did notice it but wouldnāt look too far into it. The shot they were trying to get might have just been the moment he jumped off so they might not have needed him to go very far.
I also wonder if what weāre watching are practice jumps and not actual filming? Just a thought.
Bungee jump maybe?
Certainly possible but if was just a practice jump I doubt the other actors and helicopter would have been involved.
Also, you can hear an assistant director talking about getting the next shot.
I agree! My fault for not watching with the sound on.
Isnāt he holding on to a rope in that video? Or are those just the wires Iām seeing?
āCurse of Bondā and the likeā¦
āTime doesnāt care about our feelingsā¦ā What a great line!
I thought about that. I think the rope will be digitally removed, and Bond jumps down to a lower platform or ground level, with the assistance of a parachute or some other method. Maybe heās running towards his DB5?
The cables attached to the stuntmanās harness will be digitally removed, I donāt think the rope will - looks like the action beat is that heās jumping off the bridge and grabbing a loose rope/cable to swing underneath it.
It has become a running gag. But such a successful and famous endeavour is the ideal platform for people seeking publicity, so this will continue until nobody will be interested in Bond anymore.
You overestimate the importance of the āproduction troublesā with the general audience
Correction: it“s the Yellow Press which overestimates that.
Thereās an old school myth about āthereās no such thing as bad publicity - because bad publicity ends up being - well - publicityā. I agree that for the most part, people are going to flock to a Bond film regardless of what has been written, but I canāt help but feel the opening night experience will be somewhat tainted by this. I hate that!
