No Time To Die - Trailer 4

Looks like a true event film worthy of being the conclusion to one of the best Bond actors we’ve ever had. I don’t think it reveals too much more from what we’ve already seen, but I do know my November wait to see it (which no doubt will become 2022) is torturous.

I like the whole “every mission…every sacrifice…has led to this” bit towards the beginning, as though this was a really well thought-out plot arc.

A more accurate tag line there would have been “a near bankruptcy, a court settlement, and one really crappy film that forever altered its three predecessors…has led to this”.

I was thinking the exact same thing about that “…has lead to this” tag line. Honestly, as good as this looks, the ‘continuity’ aspect of this is the part I’m least excited about. It’s been a six year wait for what seems to be a direct sequel to one of the more underwhelming of the twenty four preceding films. “The epic conclusion” also reiterates that they are trying to force all of Craig’s films into some sort of cohesive arc, which, despite what they tried in Spectre, it really isn’t.
I really hope that they go back to stand alone, one and done flims from Bond 26 onwards (but in this world of ‘universes’ I’m fearing they won’t).

Trailer is no longer available. Curious.

it went live too early. Surfaced on the official NTTD YT playlist as unlisted. Guess official launch in 2 hours (9am PT)

The news that Skyfall will not continue the QUANTUM storyline introduced and partially developed in the past two Craig-starring Bond flicks is pretty much guaranteed to be the most controversial piece of information announced here. It’s long been expected that film’s screenplay - which was penned by Casino Royale /Quantum of Solace co-scribers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, along with Oscar-nominee John Logan (Gladiator , The Aviator ) - would indeed pick up that dangling narrative thread and bring it to a more satisfactory conclusion.

I must have dreamt this into existence from 2011. People on here insist the idea only came up in 2015.

@antovolk will it be possible to get a high bit rate version of this trailer , the way we go for the others ?

yeah, just a question of time…

Well, EON and MGM making poor managerial decisions is pretty on brand for them….

AND ANOTHER!

The way I see it this is aimed more at the casual fans, telling them ‘you haven’t seen the end of Craig’s Bond yet’ - not just another Bond film but a coda that aims to wrap it all up nicely. Whatever it takes to help the film at the box office. :crossed_fingers:

I wonder how they’ll market the next one when they back that Brinks truck full of Amazon money up to Craig’s door and entice him back for one more go.

If they were to do that, it would be interesting to see how they’ll connect the next villain to Craig’s Bond. We’ve had two brotherly rivals (Silva being “Bond” for M before Bond was, and then Bloferhauser) and now someone who is connected to Bond via his love interest. Maybe Craig returns in the next one to take down the guy who walks Q’s dogs because he happens to have a fiendish plot to destroy the world.

They could give Bond a child who was never mentioned before and don’t know of the other films until they move to Bonds house in the country…

That really was a trailer which revealed something… uncomfortable. Too soon?

The way he tosses away the detonator at the end is why he’s Bond. So cool.

If that is what it looks it is, they were a little too good at 20 minutes into the future.

And it seems…

Summary

… that Bond gets infected (the mist around him when the other guests retreat), Maddie saying „you don‘t know what this is“ with Bond holding out his hand, Safin wanting the world to be „tidier“ - yep, his plan is a bioweapon, Bond will become part of that, and he will sacrifice himself to stop that. Either EON will give Craig his Logan-ending, which would explain the insistence on HIS FINAL MISSION, or they toy with it and then save him but give him the original YOLT ending. Question is: is that what audiences want to see now?

Agreed. The trailer, not so subtly, points you in a particular direction. Now, it’s down to whether or not they actually decided to follow through and actually put that on the screen.

Now that’s the trailer I have been waiting for!!! I have always been under the impression that the ending of NTTD was “spoiled” “leaked” last summer:
Potential big spoilers below

Summary

Nomi piloting Madeline and Mathilde away from Safins lair…few scenes later Madeline drives Mathilde through Matera in the Vantage and begins to tell her a story presumably about Bond. Bond is M.I.A - as per ending of YOLT. Also if I didn’t dream it I remember reading that CJF said NTTD will lead directly to the next movie.

After being sceptical about Craig being cast as Bond he has become one of my favourites so much so that I took delight in all of his movies even QOS and Spectre despite their faults I think Craig’s tenure has done a pretty good job at giving us a look at Bond.
