I don’t think they really caught on here. I remember my local MVC music store selling all of there’s in a sale for £4.99 each.
I did know a single person who had a laser disc player actually.

I still own my laserdisc player. Back in the day it was the only way to see films in letterbox and at a higher resolution than VHS tape. There was also a local rental store that carried a huge selection. I would rent them and then record the rental in letterbox onto VHS tape. I had all the Bond films in that format for years before I broke down and bought them on laserdisc.
I too have a laserdisc player, and all the Bond films released on them.
I remember seeing a player and five discs ( the size of LPs) being advertised in MVC for £300. I don’t remember our blockbusters hiring discs.
Thinking about it,I think the only time I actually saw a laser disc in use was on karaoke machines in pubs in the early to mid 1990s
I I have never owned a vcr player–neither Beta nor VHS.
I still have my laserdisc player.
I am sure this comes as much of a surprise as fog in London.
Anyone know have all the Target stores put their NTTD out for sale early yet? Maybe it only some Targets in some States and NOT all. Their website is still saying, Preorders have sold out. Check back on release date. That for the Exclusive Blu-ray with the Mini Book, and the regular Blu-ray you can get anywhere, it still say preorder. It been like that on their website for the last few days. I was at a Target this past Wednesday and they did not have any out yet or maybe the shipment has not got in yet.
What the sale price for the Exclusive Blu-ray and regular Blu-ray?
Well it was mainly VHS and betamax recorders
For a movie that doesn’t come out til Tuesday, it seems to be for sale at a lot of places. I got the dvd/Blu-ray combo at Walmart Thursday, and the 4K arrives from Amazon today.
I’ve seen the movie out at Walmart already, apparently MGM gave them the go ahead to do a soft release on Friday so it would be available the weekend before Christmas. I want to get the Target exclusive with the book but I wonder if it is simple an excerpt from “The Making of No Time To Die” by Mark Salisbury or if it’s it’s own book with different content. Also it looks like the AppleTV doc “Becoming James Bond” is only available on the 4K Disc.
I don’t have a 4K TV nor a 4K player so I’ll have to wait and hope the doc is included with the eventual 4K box set of the whole series. Then I’ll upgrade to a 4K player and TV.
If it means anything to anybody, the digital copy on Vudu gives you “Being James Bond” as an extra.
Ive not got a 4k player or TV, hence I only have the standard blu ray and not the steel book
Before people start asking, yes the dvd next to NTTD is the Ipcress file, I have all five of the Harry Palmer movies, I consider him a contemporary of Bond, but on the other end of the scale, Pay wise
The German digibook is an excerpt from the Making off book. I think that every book has more or less the same content, but it still are beautiful items.
No shame there. Palmer films were helmed by both Guy Hamilton and Ken Russell.
Somehow over the years I didn’t pick up a Skyfall or Spectre DVD box (I do have the SF DVD tho, presumably from a combo pack.) I have the NTTD DVD/BLU-RAY Walmart combo and the 4K from Amazon. Will head to Target to nab their version today/tomorrow.
The 3 volume DVD set really takes me back
Is that any unopened copy of Goldeneye 64?
