RIP my sweet and forever
“Roll, Roll, Roll in the Hay!”
I went to visit my parents yesterday. As the self appointed IT manager for the family, I put the same breaking news app on all our phones.
My phone dinged. It was news that Teri Garr had died.
From the other room I heard my Dad’s phone ding.
Pause. Pause. Pause.
I hear my Dad’s voice say “He vould have an enormous schwanzstucker!”
That’s a shame, I’m about to start playing Spider-Man 2 with him in it.
In honor of Veteran’s Day, thank you to all who have served, and lost their lives to protect others.
Also, 25 years ago today, we lost an extremely talented (and generally nice person) to suicide. Mary Kay Bergman took her own life, due to having bad thoughts about herself. Namely, feeling that she was losing her talent. That couldn’t have been more false, she was just getting started. She is missed in more ways than one. For me, she’ll always be the best South Park voice actress. But her career goes way beyond South Park. If you have those dark thoughts, please know that there is help, even here. No one should have to feel alone, in particular veterans.
Timothy West…
R.I.P.
I was fortunate to meet her very briefly circa 1995. I gave her a tour of an F-14 Tomcat at NAS Miramar, San Diego during a corporate event. She had a big smile on her face, a gleam in her eye, and was dressed in a beautiful evening dress.
It’s being reported on social media that Vic Flick has sadly passed away
Sad news, and another key player in the Bond legend gone.
We need another “response” option besides the heart. I never feel right saying I “like” a death notice…
Yes, I feel the same, it’s awkward, but there is no other option so than I use it anyway.
Johnny Marr is right, it is the greatest guitar piece put to film. Vic Flick should never be overlooked.
I feel the same way–so much so that even if I like the person’s comments, I just cannot put a like heart to them. It just doesn’t feel right.
I guess the thing to do would be to just make a post with a broken heart.
So in regards to Vic Flick passing: Thank you for your James Bond contributions. They will never be forgotten. RIP
Very sensible proposal, seconded.
Great career this man had…
We just saw Earl Holliman in The Big Combo on TCM’s Noir Alley program.
