I remember him being involved with U2 and Madonna around the late 90s and early 2000s. Produced one of the two versions (and the superior version, I would say) of the criminally underrated U2 song “Electrical Storm”. RIP

I was a huge fan of William Orbit’s STRANGE CARGO album. I was heavily involved in managing bands at the time just prior to launching an indie record label and that Orbit release was a holy grail of sorts for what our goals were artistically as a label.

Unfortunately, her brother (who she called the greatest gift in her life), passed away a few years ago. Sadly, their parents have lost both of their children. Thoughts and prayers for their parents, I know this is unspeakably sad for them.

I only know her from the two Scream movies she’s in, but it’s so sad to read this, 36 years old, so very young and probably with so many dreams and desires, that will never be fullfilled.

What a terrible loss. This was another one that I found myself thinking about more over the course of the day than I thought that I would. It was kind of exciting not too long ago because it sounded like she was trying to make a bit of a comeback, which would have been great because she was extremely talented. Most of the work she did fell outside of the type of shows or movies that I would watch, but I was always impressed with her in what I did see.
Her performance in Remember the Titans is one of the best performances I’ve seen by an actor that early in a career, and was a performance in which she more than held her own on screen with both Denzel Washington and Will Patton (not to mention the actors playing the players on the football team, many of whom have gone on to really good careers in their own rite), and was truly one of the most memorable parts of that great film.

I once was in Winnipeg Canada on a business trip and had the opportunity to see her and did not. Always regretted it. While her music was never a part of my life, she was a great artist.

Oh no! In the magazine I work for, we have an article on her in our “Where are they now?” section in this week’s issue, with quotes from, rebuffing rumors about illness and about her plans for the future – Las Vegas shows in September, new musical in January – and now this…
