The old forums were better

That’s a shame, but I get it. Ya gotta change with the times, right?

Just so.

I first started perusing the forums around 2004, when Pierce dropped out of the role and before Craig was cast. I joined as a member and started posting in 2008, albeit under a different name.

Hey, a little off topic, but does Athena 007 still haunt these forums?

Been a while since she’s been seen around here :slightly_frowning_face:

Athena is alive and well but has faded off from Bond around here. She still has the love and appreciation for it though.

Coolies, lol.

I believe I bought a Die Another Day vinyl door banner from her. Didn’t she and her mate do a 40+ hour Bond marathon half dozen years ago or so?

She was awesome. I do miss her.

Wasn’t sure exactly where to post this but as a veteran of the old forums, I just wanted to pop in and say hi! I’m still here lurking and popping in from time to time. As Bond said in Quantum…“I never left!” Mostly though, all of my Bond activities these days is done on Twitter. Feel free to follow me…I’m @bassman78 if you are on Twitter yourself. Needless to say, I couldn’t be more thrilled with the glowing reactions and general buzz around No Time To Die. I’ve got my ticket to see it next Thursday (Oct. 7th) and look forward to posting my review and thoughts here in the appropriate section. Hard to believe its been 15 years since Casino Royale and we are sadly saying adieu to Daniel Craig who has been a fantastic Bond and I’ll be very sad to see him leave. However, a new dawn approaches in 2022 with the 60th anniversary of 007 and fingers crossed a new actor is announced to take over the PPK as Bond No. 007? Here’s hoping! :sunglasses:

“In the world of CBn, he is known as “The Dove”…A very sick… Bloke”.

Good to see you Dove.

I wonder if the announcement of Bond 7 will come with a redesigned 007 logo. The last update was in the mid-90s, only 30-ish years after Dr. No’s debut. It wouldn’t be the most outrageous thing…

Welcome back!

Agreed! I’d actually be kind of in favor of a refresh or upgrade to the logo for the new Bond.

Greetings all ladies and gentlemen.

Thought I’d stop by and ask for reinstatement since an awful lot of time that I was away. I sincerely hope that some faint memories of my presence and contributions in the old CBn forums might awake in the minds of some of the old faces here. I have been a reader of the new forums for a while now and I couldn’t restrain myself from becoming, a little more active.

Although, to my bitter disappointment, it is fruitless to try to revisit and resurrect old situations in the hope that past glory can be somehow regained, it is damn refreshing to share the thrill that this franchise gives, with fellow fans.

In the words of Bond “You should try it sometime. Get away from it all. It really lends perspective…”

Hey, I used to post on the Old Forums under the same name; think I joined around November/December 2006, was posting a lot c.2009 but wound down a bit after that, but would still post from time to time until 2015 or 2016. Good to see a lot of familiar faces here. I personally found No Time to Die to be just OK, but it has reinvigorated my interest in Bond as a whole; just finished reading Colonel Sun for the first time and currently reading both Thunderball and The Battle For Bond. Got The Lost Adventures of James Bond coming for my birthday, which I am looking forward to very much.
